But still, it has quite a few cemented facts. Even if it is unauthorative. There are wise men out there. Better listen to others than to ourselves
Well I looked up wikipedia. One of their sub-headings is "Economic freedom" which they basically equate with free-market capitalism, buttressed with references to "Further reading" by the likes of Milton Friedman and Friedrich von Hayek. One person's "economic freedom" is another's wage-slavery.
Actually, you are the one ranting. Myself, I'm just pointing out that you are incorrect in your rantings. Feel free to rant and whine and cry about it all you want. You are simply incorrect when you say smokers rights and freedoms have been taken away, when the simple truth is that, it is merely that the rights and freedoms of non-smokers have been restored!
I doubt that very much. Most have simply defended themselves against your anti smoking rants. I appreciate you being a non smoker but there are other's who cannot quit but are trying. Or have tried but can't. Enough said "Ignored".
I know that smoking deprives the brain of oxygen so that it makes thinking a little harder but “anti-smoking rants”? That’s a pretty long stretch but okay I’ll go along, Please show me where I’ve done any anti-smoking ranting. I think you’ll find that not once in this thread have said that smoking should be outlawed all together and also have stated that smoking does not necessarily make one a bad person. Yes, I have stated that smoking is a health risk and I don’t want to be confined in the same room with someone who is smoking but that is a far cry from a anti-smoking rant. As for ranting I believe you are the one who has changed this thread from “Freedom is walking up a big hill just so you can run down it again.” to “Freedom is a distant memory; Swallowed up by the jaws of political correctness , health and safety and the anti smoking unions.” Some how, maybe it’s just me but that seems a little rant filled. Seeing as no one posted about smoking before you it does not seem that your first post was, as you say; defending yourself against anti-smoking rants. Next I believe that you went on for several posts before I ever got involved so still not defending yourself against my "anti-smoking rants". Also your talk of violence to non-smokers, again to me, seems a bit over the top. So once again John, You are simply incorrect when you say smoker’s rights and freedoms have been taken away, when the simple truth is that, it is merely that the rights and freedoms of non-smokers have been restored!
"Freedom is the freedom to say that two plus two make four. If that is granted, all else follows." -- 1984, George Orwell
(without going and reading all 10 pages and seeing what has already been said) Freedom in my opinion is about having the right to speak your mind without being told you "aren't allowed to say that" or "shh, someone might be offended". This goes as well for those that i might disagree with, as freedom should be free for everyone (not just those you agree with. Freedom is about being able to live your life in the manner you choose (so long as you are not harming others) without fear of reprisal. Freedom is about being able to protest just for protests sake (but this sort of goes along with the 'freedom of speach' thing). Freedom is about being able to leave peaceful lives (even if peaceful to you might be blaring your tunes and dancing about like a maniac) wherever you choose.
it is actually true that Bin Laden was trained by the CIA ... during the time that Russia had invaded Afghanistan Bin Laden was one of the people who were trained from Afghanistan to help fight back and keep Russia from anihilating the Afghani people. In that sense, Th3_Pony speaks the truth. And well, the Bush family is quite cozy with the rest of the Bin Laden family (there is one member of the Bin Laden family they joke about being "Bin Laden Bush") so well, I could see how there would be contrary circumstances that might not make him want to be caught. I can't say that I think Bush was behind 9/11 (i don't think he's that smart) but I do think he has spun it enough to use the situation to get what he and his cronies want .. and that is more oil (or rather more control over the oil). But again ... all for another thread i would think.
The beauty of a free society is that it allows any individual to express his views. The ugliness of a free society is that it allows any individual to express his views.
freedom is letting your fucking country fuck you in da ass and tells you to say "uncle" uncle sam that is, so you can give it up for something pathethic .
Freedom, freedom isn't free or is it? Hmmmmm taken from wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn it is defined as: the condition of being free; the power to act or speak or think without externally imposed restraint. Well certainly everyone is free within their own home (well every adult, children may not have so much freedom). I believe true freedom only exists in death, but can be found momentarily through many ways. For me reaching the top of a trail over looking a valley or moutain peaks, isolated in nature surrounded by no human life for atleast a couple miles, that is freedom. So basicaly what I am saying is freedom is isolation. One can not be totaly free when surrounded by another because in one way or another they will impose their views or allow/not allow certain actions.
