Saw some info about camping on American Electric Power land in McConnelsville, Ohio. They have free camp sites you can use with water, shitters, lakes, ponds, picnic tables, hiking trails and more. You may stay for 14 days at one site then move to another for 14 more days. About 90 min drive from Columbus, OH but near other small towns. I sent them an e-mail asking if they have showers but haven't heard back. This may be a nice place to spend summer/fall. For $300.00 you can buy the gear you will need.
