Well to introduce myself as this is my first post, my name is Matt and I'm from Los Angeles, California! I'm going to be honest and say I signed up to post this thread here but hopefully I will get more involved as time goes by.

So the story all starts a couple of days ago at a school dance. This girl from another school and I were really hitting it off. It only took a few hours until we decided to go back to her car and 'fornicate'. Needless to say, the first couple of seconds were unprotected and after that we applied the child-blocker. Needless to say we did it multiple times and there was indeed skin on skin contact. Anyways, this girl has had multiple partners before me and a lot of my girl-friends have told me that she may or may not have genital herpes.

This is when I seriously started freaking out as two-three days later I started getting sick. I got flu-like symptoms, sore throat, my glands were swollen, as were my neck muscles, but that could have been from sleeping funny. I had a fever, the chills, sweats. Now it has been about five days and I have noticed that my genitals have started tingling and my scrotum has been enlarged - almost as if it has been stretched. I mean this could very well all be my imagination because I have been reading non-stop about the herpes virus and all of these things have come up as symptoms, so I'm not really sure. If it does help, I did seem to notice that she did not have any the known outbreak symptoms of herpes on her genitals or mouth area. I mean it was darker in the car but I didn't seem to see anything.

This just all confuses me so much as I have heard so many stories of the herpes virus and things like "My boyfriend and I have been having sex for 10 months now and I only just got it from him," so I'm really confused as to how such a thing could happen to me. I have gone in for a blood test and I am waiting to here back from results, so I guess what I'm looking for here is other people's experience with this subject. Any help would be much appreciated, thank you.

    - Matt

Fornicate? Child blocker? That made me lol, are you from the 1950's? joking... I know you said you're in high school. Well, where exactly did you have the blood test done and did you tell the doctor you specifically wanted to get tested for herpes? I would think they need to do a physical exam on you.. For future reference, a good place to go is Planned Parenthood for std testing. PP isn't just for family planning and isn't just for women. You can get services for free there since you're in high school with no income. So google one in your area. Please get tested and stay safe. I hope everything turned out okay for you.

ESpecially if things taste a little different... or at least that was my experience with mono anyway

You're probably safe and freaking at nothing, but as has been said, better to get tested just to be sure
