Alright people, lets not give Frank a hard time,he ain't here to defend himself.JeN you said you had Yellow Snow in your head, there were also references to Poodle Bites and Rutabaga.Frank's classlics go alot deeper than those,Frank had a hell of a message in his music. If you are deep enough to find it.I am not giving you all a hard time,I just have a great appreciation for Frank Zappa.
I love Frank, seen him in concert myself, was the bestest, but there's nothing wrong with the satirical songs mentioned.
I'm not givin' Frank a hard time, Greg! Just happened to be the first song of his that popped in my mind when I saw his name. We listen to Zappa all the time around here; my hubbie's a huge fan. The last Dead concert we went to I bought him a Zappa t-shirt (the front has a huge pic of Frank's face and under it it says "You are what you is") when he wasn't lookin'. He loved it!
Cool JeN,I was just ramblin' on been out in the sun all day at work.I am a little bit baked, plus a buzzzzz. No I am a big Zappa fan,saw him in concert 6 different times.I have all of his albums all the way back to the begining.Go back to the oldies like My guitar wants to kill your mamma or The Ballad of Billy The Mountain.Yeah I am aging myself, but what the hell. That is classlic Zappa,I need to figure out how to transfer all of that to cd's.Then I could share alot of this old music that I have.Enough rambling for now.
I am a big Zappa fan, 'have been most of my life. here's a way to get much of that music on cd: http://www.rykodisc.com/Catalog/CatalogArtist_01.asp?Action=Get&Artist_ID=195
Thanks Warrior,I appreciate the link to Zappa.Been a life long fan,but have very little on cd's.All of mine is on vinyl, but used on a regular basis. As you know,Zappa gets very little air play on the radio, unless you have a very devoted DJ who doesn't mind putting their job on the line. Thanks again for the link.
yeah, people treat him like a gimmik sometimes, when in actuallity he was a very good composer, and a fine guitarist as well
He was a genius. So very very happy that they've started to release the gems from his personal musical vault! Joy of joys!
