Fox isn't conservative. It's a perception problem. The whole world is just too liberal. :)

Now that doesn't help you at all does it?

And CNN doesn't really have a liberal bias, most of the talking heads are from both sides of the isle, get equal amount of time, and don't end in shouting matches. Some of it can be liberal, but most of the time it is pretty well balanced.

FoxNews on the other hand does try to be conservative, they are trying to reach a demographic that feels it's been ignored. But, then again the flags, the endless hounding of Clinton, the almost lap-dog support of bush... it does kinda weaken your case.

Maybe you should read "lies and the lying liars who tell them" by Al Franken, it has some interesting points, it skews liberal (obviously) but not obnoxiously so (like moore's books ((which for some reason my family keeps giving me for christmas))) but even if everything he says makes you think : BULLSHIT! it is a very well written, funny, articulate and interesting read. And before you get started there are some things in there which are obviously B.s. but they are jokes.
Seriously check it out, it's good.

The corporate news channels on cable in the U.S. are really just tabloids, much like the National Inquirer. I don't even know why they call them news channels. The only real news I ever saw on them was for about a month after the 911 attack. I wish there was just one good TV news channel in the U.S. that gave the news and not all of the endless political gossip and chatter about the latest California murder trial.

News networks outside the U.S. tend to be more objective and give more of just the facts and not nearly as much opinion. It's ashame that most in the U.S. don't have access to foreign TV news networks. They would see how skewed TV news is in the U.S., especially the corporate cable networks.

Al Franken is a pretty good humorist. He was a writer on the original Saturday Night Live comedy show back in the 70s and used to make regular appearances in the sketches.

Eh, I read an interview he did in Rolling Stone. He was too anti-bush for me. I'd really like to read a book called collolus(spelling?) about how American should assume it's role as an empire fully. Some British dude wrote his name is Neal something.

GA, it is a matter of perspective. I have heard republican right wing nuts accuse Reagan of being a Hollywood liberal. Many people here are so left wing they say Clinton is a republican. The FACT is that all the media channels were in concert in examining Clinton's zipper with a microscope yet turn a blind eye to Bush's alcohol problem and drunk driving convictions let alone his violation of the U.S. Constitution and economic nightmare of a National Debt.

King George is the first Court Appointed President in U.S. History.

If that website doesn't show you enough read the patriot act and Constitutional rights to privacy.

Not only did King George violate the constitution, he violated the Geneva convention as well. He has lived above the law all his life.

Bush didn't win Florida because of a lack of a recount, he didn't win because old people got confused with their ballots, he won florida because Catherine Harris paid this company to come up with a list of convicted felons who lost their right to vote. funny story, it turns out that 45,000 of the 50,000 names on the list were wrong, that some people had a last name similar to a felon, or had a social security number close to a felons, or that they committed crimes in the future.
And, this is the kicker, 10,000 of the names on the list were republicans, 40,000 were democrats.
    That's why gore lost florida.

Of-course the media doesn't run this story, but all you could see on CNN is how confusing the ballots were.

Cnn doesn't have a liberal bias, they just have a soft-news bias, rather than reporting the real story in this instance they reported the ballot one because it wouldn't offend anyone, and wouldn't question the powers-that-be.

Either we vote him out democratically, or failing that, we bribe a bunch of indian tribes with alcohol and beads to invade washington D.C. they would never see it coming. Think about it the FBI has a to-do list in case of a terrorist strike, riots, nuclear war, or a number of things that would destabliize the government, but how much do you wanna bet they have a policy on scalping.

Ahhhh... I would go with the voting him out democratically thing.

If you want change, you better vote for someone who has a chance to beat Bush. That would be the best form of protest.

I agree with that, but I think that it sucks that that is our choice. The person who doesn't suck as much as Bush. Pretty sad. Hopefully we can get things on an upward spiral so one day we will have a worthwhile candidate that actually has a chance of winning.

I didn't see a thread about it. Did anyone else watch Outfoxed when it debuted on Sunday night?

    I loved it. No apologies.

i've been watching some of fox news reports, and what they do deliver in just terms of news i can't really see any difference between them and cnn. but in terms of their hosted discussion shows it's distinctly right wing, that's for sure.

I don't care that FOX is conservative, the problem comes in when they claim to be "fair and balanced". I read workingforchange.com on a regular basis, I find thier information reliable, but there is no way they are fair and blanced - they are BIASED and they are pretty honest about it. If FOX were to be honest about it's consrvaitve bias, then it has the same right to be on the air as a PBS broadcast.

I suggest people take a close look at the Florida court case in which Fox essentially won the "right to lie and distort the news".

    http://www.organicconsumers.org/rbgh/akre022103.cfm

Anyone who thinks they get anything but lies, sanitised spin and entirely right wing ideologically filtered distortion of the News (even the minimal amount that is deemed to in fact be newsworthy) from Fox News only further proves P.T. Barnum's old addage that there is a sucker born every minute.
