Lawyers for Fox "News" stated, in response to numerous lawsuits against the media company for broadcasting lies, misinformation, and conspiracy theories, that most of it's hosts and anchors " .....are putting forth 'opinion television' - not factual information - .......... AND VIEWERS SHOULD KNOW THAT." So by their own admission, what Fox has been calling "news" is - in fact - opinion television. Right-wing, nut-job opinions ................ NOT FACTS. Their own lawyers stated this publicly. Strange how when lawsuits, legal cases and HUGE MONEY are at stake ............. the truth comes out - kicking and screaming. Except for the T-R-U-L-Y D-E-N-S-E people ........................ the fog of the "swamp" has been cleared. By their own lawyers. And yet ................ they're STILL at it ............... and some of the same DENSE DOLTS still believe the Fox "news" people. Or they moved on to even more insane media (also NOT factual news) outlets like OAN, Newsmax, and Breitbart. They're NOTHING MORE than right-wing, nut-job propaganda machines, - spewing division, hatred, and bigotry. Mental pickle juice runs deep.
When I grew up reporting was kept separate from commentary and analysis in print and electronic media. In the last 20 years that barrier has dissolved everywhere regardless of political bias. Several decades ago in the UK there was a newspaper called the News Chronical. Popular with readers but not advertisers. Here is a thread I started on Intellectual dishonesty.
"One of the biggest problems with the world today is that we have large groups of people who will accept whatever they hear on the grapevine, just because it suits their worldview—not because it is actually true or because they have evidence to support it. The really striking thing is that it would not take much effort to establish validity in most of these cases… but people prefer reassurance to research."-Neil deGrasse Tyson
Yes, the viewers should know that, but then again they are talking about Fox viewers. In other words people have to be told what to think. What has happened over the years for people to have that attitude?
