I typed love into Wikipedia and found this:

"In Japanese Buddhism, ai (愛) is passionate caring love, and a fundamental desire. It can develop towards either selfishness or selflessness and enlightenment."

    Meh! Wrong!

You view your desires with equinimity, to repress them would be a form of aversion which is one of the three great things that keeps the wheel turning and you would be thus distancing yourself from the reality that you realise at enlightenment.
