:p why I went to bonnaroo, but I've seen them 3 times now so it's not reason enough... I would love to see Thom Yorke but fuck buying a ticket and getting viciously ill for three acts I could see separately for much cheepaaah

Really? People here think it's cool to not pay to get in to see music? I never would have guessed. I proudly pay every time I go to see a band/dj. Heck, if I didn't pay, then how would they travel and put on awesome shows?

If its a gig I always pay..I like my festivals free though. I pay for local cds and bands even though I dont have too but festivals definitely have to be free. Just dont have the money for festivals. Working there is more productive than paying anyway and if I travel a few hundred miles and cant get work Im hardly jsut going to turn around and hitch back..

I totally would if I could afford it. I always pay for individual concerts and most of the time I buy a shirt and an album if they have ones that I don't have. and if I can volunteer afterwards, at least i'm contributing something in the end.

yep, will = way. i once hid in the trunk of a car for 45 minutes under a bunch of heavy frigging bags and shit to get into a festival. in my defence i was working at a stall there, we just weren't given enough tickets for all the volunteers.

i always pay for shows, just do my best to get into festivals for free. usually that means volunteering or working though, so i don't feel like i'm taking anything from the artists. i've always had more fun volunteering anyway, especially if they give me a bullhorn. also, all the festivals i've ever been to have sold out so it's not like they need my ticket price. i happily pay for small local festies that aren't established yet.

    i'll hold you to that.

    Thats not too bad :p

At the same festival where I was beaten I had to wade through a river, trudge through a huge feild of nettles taller than me, in the pitch black while having to avoid security and then climb over a 15 foot wall surrounding the whole place...was worth every minute though :D

we're smach in the middle of the summer festival season here - i attended (as well as worked at) rainbow serpent festival, here in vic, australia - 4 official days of totally amazing everything... so i stayed for 6 ;)

working now on getting myself a free ticket for maitreya which is coming up in a few weeks and then it'll be time to focus on the burning man seed gathering for australia

which is about cause for the biggest happy dance i've done in years.... have always wanted to go to burning man, love the ethos and have always wished for something like it here in aus... now we have an amazing crew helping to make it happen and who are dedicated to keeping it's spirit true to the original. very exciting! will make it to burning man nevada for 2013 most definately, if not before, but for now, starting this off is going to keep me pretty happy :D

Clare is a beautiful county, fuck all to do there though :p

Galway or Cork county (though thats a bit biased obviously) are the most fun places Ive been, all the best festivals are around the centre of the country, there are a lot of private festivals there. Actually if any of the Éireann or UK folks want info on any of them then work away, only a thousand or so people at some of them but great people, much more personal atmosphere, plenty drugs, music and fun that lasts anywhere from a weekend to a full week :)

Always the best people too as it travels by word of mouth, no advertising so you just get a core group of festiers :D.

Great reggae, techno/dubstep/DnB and trad festivals :)
