This is not for the weak stomached!

    Guga - salted, dried gannet.

I have never tried it, nor will I!

My mother in law said she ate this as a child at her Hebridean grandparents. Almost certainly a poverty dish. It was cod heads stuffed. She said I’d was good and there was a lot of meat on a cod's head. I'll still give it a miss.

Oatmeal fried in animal fat. For sophistication, onions can be added. In truth, another poverty food from hard times.

    Rag Pudding. another Lancashire concoption

Rag pudding or rag pie is a traditional English delicacy made by cooking a combination of ground meat and onions in a suet pastry. The whole concoction is cooked in cotton or muslin rags, hence the name.

Daughter and I, the cooks in the house, have just discussed it and we wouldn’t use suet. Make it a bit healthier, if less traditional.
