my latest foray into deliciousness, from "extraordinary meals from ordinary ingredients" by readers digest, my favorite know everything books! the chocolate chips were my idea, they weren't in the recipe. Enjoy!

    Foolproof Pound Cake

    secret ingredient: cream cheese

1 1/2 cups (3 sticks) unsalted butter (no substitutes) softened
........................................(i only had salted sweet cream butter, it worked fine!)
1 package (8oz) cream cheese at room temperature
    2 1/3 cups sugar
    6 eggs, at room temperature
3 cups AP flour (if at high altitude, add about 2 TBSP to compensate, mine was ..........................delicious but very dense because i forgot that part ;Þ)
    1 tsp vanilla extract
    (optional: 1-2 cups chocolate chips)

    1_preheat oven to 300°F
2_in a large bowl cream the butter and cream cheese. gradually add the sugar, beating until light and fluffy, 5-7 minutes
3_add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition (i crack the eggs into a measuring cup, so i can pick out any shell before they go into the mix)
4_gradually add the flour and beat just until blended. stir in the vanilla (don't over beat it or you'll make too much gluten, unless you're into that kinda thing ;) )
5_pour into a greased and floured 10 inch tube or bundt pan (i used pam and 2 loaf pans, i have no tubey pans :( )
6_bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with only moist crumbs, about 1 1/2 hours
7_cool in the pan for 15 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely (that way it contracts a little before you try to get it out of the pan)

I just made a tossed salad with Lettuce, Cherry Tomatoes, Green Peppers, Celery, Onions, Sharp Chedder, and a couple pieces of Salami. Best part is all the veggies with the exception of the onions were grown in my garden.

I just made my nana a lemon coconut birthday cake MMMMM

It looks kind of funny because I'm rushing a little and glazed it while the cake was still warm so it's shifting a little bit.

I'll post the recipe later, i stole it from Amy Sedaris' cook book "Hospitality Under the Influence" haha, but tweeked it a bit and just made butter cream lemon glaze. I love that book. Andddd I love cake!
