Well, you can still enjoy yourself without drinking turpentine... I'd imagine fluoride shouldn't be much harder.
When I can afford it I'll probably buy one of those...filtration systems. I don't even want to deal with it.
Not advertising here, but a great site that addresses flouride and natural stuff is naturalnews.com. I just needed to find this thread later to show those quotes to family that thinks im crazy!
"Four epidemiological studies have noted a correlation between increased fluoride and low IQ." (National Research Council (2006). Fluoride in Drinking Water: A Scientific Review of EPA's Standards. Washington, DC: National Academies Press. ISBN 0-309-10128-X. http://books.nap.edu/catalog.php?record_id=11571#toc. Lay summary (September 24, 2008).) Low IQ= complacency =easier manipulation of people by the government. Which allows for people to consume more and abandon social/political awareness.
The use of flouride in water is ridiculous and largely immoral. Flouride is an industrial by-product. It is toxic and has horrible side effects, but yet we are almost forced to ingest it (at least where I live). Most flouride added to water isn't even natural flouride, but instead is fluorosilicic acid. I must ask, if flouride is beneficial for teeth (this is controversial), and the application is topical, why for gods sake, is it put in our water supply so we have to drink it? I haven't regularly used flourinated water for 8 years, and I have less cavities now then I ever had. Interesting coincidence... Why isn't the adverse health effects made publically aware? It took me 20 years of my life before I was able to uncover this crucial information, and it sure wasn't from a governmental source. Personally 99% of the water I use is filtered via reverse osmosis. But what about the majority of the population that is exposed to this on a daily basis? How dare the people responsible play with our health like this.
Flouride is a natural occurance, and is also natural in water...although the levels of flouride in modern drinking water is by far more than any naturally occuring thing.
Indeed...the amount found in most cities water supplies cannot simply be written off as "run off" from natural rock formations or "industrial emissions." The first documentation of known fluoridation of a water supply was done by the Gestapo in concentration camps. They openly stated that their reasons were not to prevent tooth decay, but rather to create complacency in order to easily subdue their prisoners. The thing is, the moment you mention this to most people they immediately write it off as some crazy conspiracy theory.
I don't know if you guys are even familiar with were a lot of the flouride production comes from as well as other products and chemicals that are involved with their creation. "Apatite" rock is commonly used to create phosphate fertilizer using processes that also involve fossil fuels, natural gas more specifically. The Apatite rock contains other radioactive elements. One most particularly is Polonium. That why smokers, especially in the united states, often have a higher amount in their tissues. US tobacco plants are drenched with phosphates to starve the plant of nitrogen and create a particular flavor. This rock also contains Fluoride and chlorine. You can't dump mass amounts of flouride, it would kill everything. Its more profitable for them to sell you a by-product under the premises of it being for health. Undoubtedly these radioactive particles end up in things other than just cigarettes as well. Its rather hard to accuse the government of drugging like the Nazi's and Russians did in concentration camps because of supposed "health benefits", but I don't see the US as a democracy, or even a very good republic.
Do you have any links to shower heads that filter out flouride? All I have found through my searches is flouride filters for sink faucets and shower heads that remove chlorine and other toxins (but not flouride) Thanks. Also, does anyone know if the damage caused by flouride is irreversible? A quick search of how to detoxify the body of flouride led me to an article that stated a small amount of borax mixed in with water will help with detoxification. Has anyone tried this? Is it safe? side effects? Sorry if this has already been mentioned. It's a long thread and I tried to skim through every post but may have missed something.
i read that the brain, specifically the pineal gland can be detoxed of fluoride over time... not sure about any other body parts that it affects.
The government says it's safe, so it must be OK. The same with vaccines, prescription drugs, and formaldehyde!
The only reason you know there's fluoride in the water is because they told you, ever wonder what's in it they aren't telling you about?
I'd be very interested in this too (both questions). A quick check on wiki says that consumption of borax over a 5-10 year period may increase likelihood of liver cancer. I have no idea if that's true but I really would love to detox. I fear the fluoride pills I was made to take as a kid may have damaged me - I have certain problems that I think may be caused by that but have no way of surely knowing. Isn't this off the charts insane how many poisons we have to avoid that seem inevitable in our daily lives? I can't even take a shower or brush my teeth in peace...
United States Surgeon General : "Community water fluoridation remains one of the great achievements of public health in the twentieth century - an inexpensive means of improving oral health that benefits all residents of a community, young and old, rich and poor alike." The British Medical Association : "Fluoridation of water is an effective public health strategy for reducing tooth decay in the population. The evidence accumulated over many years shows fluoride is highly protective to the teeth of children, and is very safe. Water fluoridation is one of the most effective ways of reducing tooth decay in the community. Not only does water fluoridation reduce tooth decay and consequently the number of extractions needed, but it also brings the added and welcome benefit of a reduction in the number of general anesthetics administered to children. Evidence through scientific studies shows that fluoride in water, at or around one part per million, does not have any effect on the health of the body other than reducing decay in teeth." This view is supported by the World Health Organization, the Royal College of Physicians, and the British Dental Association, among others. :coffee: http://www.ada.org.au/oralhealth/fln/flfaqs.aspx#FLworldauth
