I am most naturally drawn to eating this way.

Flexitarianism is healthy dieting that minimizes meat without excluding it altogether.

Flexitarians weigh 15% less, have a lower rate of heart disease, diabetes and cancer, and live 3.6 years longer than their carnivorous counterparts. https://dawnjacksonblatner.com/books/the-flexitarian-diet/

The term flexitarian, defined as a person "whose normally meatless diet occasionally includes meat or fish," entered Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary in 2012http://greatist.com/eat/flexitarian-diet

Let's share some Flexitarian meal examples and recipes!

Mmm i've never tried marinating avocado, i usually just mash it up with lime juice, salt and pepper. I'll have to try that.

I'm a flexetarian, never realized there was a name for it. I usually eat meat maybe 3 times a week and do a lot of vegetarian meals in between.

This isnt a meal but one of my favorite snacks is - cherry tomatoes, basil, a piece of mozzarella, and..oh wait haha, i just realized i usually use pepperoni. Well, depending on your mood, add a slice of pepperoni or not, isnt it great being a flexetarian? Put these ingredients on a tooth pick, sprinkle some salt and pepper, olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette and enjoy! These also make great finger foods for parties

This is definitely me. I eat a lot of vegetarian meals but still like meat here and there. Here's a simple avocado dish, a quickie. I wouldn't have thought of trying this combo.

Avocado Toast with Chili Flakes

• 2 slices multigrain bread, toasted
• 1 ripe avocado
• 1 Tbsp honey
• chili pepper flakes to taste

1. Slice the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh out.
2. Divide the flesh between two pieces of toast. Using a fork, mash the avocado to spread it and create a creamy layer.
3. Drizzle honey over top. Sprinkle with chili peppers.
