They have a crazy exoskeleton that makes them VERY DIFFICULT to squash with bare hands (fingers). But I have squashed them before with my fingers. You just have to crank up the pressure like crazy...
i thiiiiinnkk,, but im not certain,, that if you get nits/lice with dreads, the best thing to do is suffocate them the things i read once were,, smear your head in vaseline (icky ew) and wear a shower cap and a towel or summat, cause itll stop them moving, and itll suffocate them, and the heat will kill them too water over 50C kills them,, but its very very hot and i wouldnt wanna use that on my scalp =/ i presume most nit/lice remedies would work as long as theyre not the type you have to comb thru!
jahdgaslo;pihnkl?? how the crud would I get vaseline outta my dreads? lol eugh the thought just grosses me out. think i'll kjust use teatree oil everyfay-apparantly they hate it and won't go in hair with it. frik I hate lice why do they even exist?
i'm at higher risk for lice because of where i work, lucky me i caught it a month or so after starting my dreads. they were already to knotted to uncomb. it was soooo hard to get rid of them, i had to wash my hair every other day with lice shampoo for over a month. i'm glad it worked though because there was no way i'd cut my hair off. i hope i didn't give myself cancer with all those chemicals from the lice shampoo.
don't put vaseline in your hair. it's very bad for the dreads and probably harder to get out of the dreads than the lice themselves. you can't saturate your dreads to the center with it anyway. it wont kill the eggs. fresh eggs take a week to hatch. after you put the vaseline in and kill a few lice, what of the eggs that will hatch in a week? vinegar doesnt do anything to eggs or lice. i tested it when i had them. dunked em in a petri-dish type thing and the lice did not die and the egg didn't separate itself from the hair. cayenne pepper, i doubt that would do anything besides burn your eyes when it drips in. the best thing to do is not catch lice. like i said, i used the lice shampoo every other day for a month, and i'm lucky i didnt poison myself- lice shampoo is not designed to be used that frequently and is a toxin. when you hug someone don't let your hair touch theirs, don't share hats
