I don't think you should be intimidated by going to the gym or by posting in this thread. Everyone is different and our bodies react differently to work-outs, diets, etc. I think it's just a good thing that you're working out.
I obtained awesome mid section Melial last year by doing 500 crunches a night, 100 push over 5 sets and then just some arm weights. My miss would tell me when I used the weights my tummy would also contract and work out. Squats for your butt or lunges. I naturally have right butt because of horses. But yes, no intimidation here. We all want to help.
mainly lifting. i get a decent amount of incidental cardio in my day-to-day life, so when i do have time to workout that is never really a priority for me. plus, i hate doing cardio for the sake of doing cardio. it's just such an unappealing way to exercise.
But you don't get an awesome midsection ftom doing crunches, but rather creating an overall calorie deficit. Crunches can bring out the definition in a person's abs, but not until they are below a certain body fat percentage, which has more to do with diet than anything else. It's a popular myth you can spot reduce fat, but you can do all the crunches in the world and you're not going to have visible abs unless you diet down to a low body fat percentage.
I didn't change my diet drastically and that's all I did and I have the results too. And that's all I do and it works for me. Crunches. Arm weights. Push-ups. All work the mid section. Even just plank there for 45 seconds, get those abs working. But yeah I dunno anything and everything I say about fitness is wrong so fucked if I know. Feel good. Look good. Dunno though. -rolls eyes-
And about the gym, I believe unless a female isn't go for a strong woman title, don't even bother. Gyns are for show ponies. You don't need to go to the gym for a treadmill or a a jog. You got outdoors for that and I think your natural weight is heavy enough to tone anything you need. I'm not anxious or intimidated at the gym, but I think it's whack nevertheless. Plus there's always all female gyms. Then again, I used to use bricks and pavers a long time ago too. Unless you need to lift 100kg, I honestly feel you could reach your goals simply at home, like I did. But I don't know though and I'm wrong anyway.
Oh, I hear that. I hate cardio. Well, I say I like spin to trick myself, but really I just like spin because it's such a great fatburn workout. I think I want to add another day of lifting to my regime.
You're not wrong. Stop saying that. Although the gym I go to is mostly gay men, so I don't have to deal with the show pony type, fortunately.
I am not saying what you did didn't work for you. You were probably at a fairly low body fat percentage to begin with, and the exercises you've been doing were enough to give you the needed caloric deficit . All I am saying is that a person needs to be pretty lean before they can have a defined midsection. A person who has five or ten lbs of belly fat to lose is not going have defined abs just from doing endless amounts of ab work.
I dont need to lose weight though, if anything I should gain a few lbs. I just want to bulk up my muscles a little, I'm veering too close to skinny territory. Aa I feel the same way about gyms. I stay fit mostly by hiking, walking and yoga but like I said I do want to bulk up my muscles a little bit. But I don't think a gym membership is necessary unless you're a serious bodybuilder. I'm a big believer in using your own body for strength building.
Hey everyone! It will be a bit weird, but I have a really frustrating problem to complete any workout programs. So I decided I will write down all my workouts and review it like a blogpost. I've never done anything like that before (like posting) so it will be crap I am sure, but hopefully it will be better by time. And one more thing I wanna write these posts to myself so if you not interested it to read these posts, please just keep rolling. And if you some inexplicable way thing that ohh that's interesting me and decided to read my posts, it is a pleasure to me Other thing I am a hungaryan so my english is definitely not that english what you are used to it, sorry for that I work on it, and ohh one more thing (the very last I promise if you read that much) If you found any grammar mistake in my writting feel free to correct me...I ask you to correct me . Thank all of you who read through my letter and have a nice day or evening
I had a bit of a frustrating workout with my PT today. It wasn't as productive as I would have liked. I really wanted to work on my dead lifts today, but everything is so tight, which threw my form off. I also have a pulled glute muscle on the left side, so my barbell squats were off as well. He did spend about 15 minutes stretching me out, so that was productive, at least. Fucking frustrating, considering I just took Saturday/Sunday/Monday off from working out.
Work on some other stuff if you feel you need to and let the pulled muscle recover. There is no shame in taking a few days off. I take days off every week.
I find when I get an injury its in the area I want to concentrate on. Its probably how blockages work. I want to do some plyometric power stuff, but my knee ligament doesn't feel quite right. So its stamina, internal energy drills, and upper body instead these next few days..
I am on the fence as to if i should bootcamp today....... I am not as sore as I was yesterday, but I don't want to push myself and then have a setback. Maybe I should just go for an hour long walk or something instead? What to do, what to do....
My husband and I went to bootcamp this morning. I was pretty pumped because A.) I was getting in an extra workout when I usually take Saturday and Sunday off, and B.) My husband was with me! My lower back is pretty sore now, though. I might just have to take the next two days off.
I roller bladed around the seawall today, probably about 10k total once I add in the distance from my place to the park. The whole way around, I only fell once, and I only almost fell twice. I am feeling pretty darn proud of myself, considering I was a nervous wreck on my rollerblades, when I bought them a couple of summers ago. I've been kicking ass on the fitness front this year, and as a result I am much more coordinated and far less clumsy than I used to be, and I think this is also the reason I am much more confident on my blades (I like calling them "blades" because it drives my husband crazy). I do think I am doing a bit too much cardio overall, though, and I intend to add another day of lifting to my regime.
