still managing the gym twice a week every week. I feel you Mama, I love that elliptical. My problem though is that I cannot keep my heart rate in a good zone without moving incredibly slow. I'm probably healthy enough to handle it, but 185 constantly is a bit ridiculous.
got hockey tomorrow. sadly thats my cardio for the week, i plan on changing that as soon as i get everything else organized around here. the cold winter days really messed me up. didnt want to do a damn thing when everything was frozen shut or frozen together.
Yeah, I have arthritis in both hips and knees, so the elliptical is great for endurance training for me. You'll get way better results by turning the resistance way up and slowing it down to 60-90rpm. A lot of people get on there and think the faster the better, but it really just stresses the heart without working the rest of the body.
I haven't been back to the gym since the near drowning. Gonna try this week but I kinda just want to cry whenever I think about it.
Sometimes I wonder if being bored isn't just natures way of telling you you are sane...Beats the hell out of being schizo.
Regular weekly schedule...as previously posted. Hit new highs in the weight room yesterday and set a new personal best in a few things in circuit training tonight. One of them being decline push-ups (feet 18 inches off the floor). My best was 45 push-ups in 45 seconds. Friday evening I hit 46 in 45 seconds knowing I blew about 1.5 seconds at the start. Tonight I hit 48 with a better start. I don't think I can improve much on that number but I never thought I would beat 46 either.
Did half my usual workout yestersay for the first time in a couple months. Plan to finish today. Lost less sttength than i thought which is cool. Bench down to 315ish from 340
Took four and a half years. I used to weigh 140 and bench 180. Now im 210, doin 315. Pretty much any man can get their bench in the three hundreds in a couple years. Just takes constant effort over time. Dedication
Ha ha... I took a modern dance class once, (as recommended by my martial arts instructor.) I was the only guy in the class. It was actually pretty dang strenuous... the dance instructor was merciless with me lol I did manage to get a date out of the deal
Had a "Health fair" at work. I just found out my blood pressure, sugar and cholesterol numbers are great. I also found out that out of 285 lbs, I am carrying 64 pounds of fat. I need to join a gym or get an elliptical rider.
I went running today and then lifted some weights. I am in training for a mountaineering expedition later this year so I have to really start working out.
