First Time at a Nude Beach

That is such a shame

 

Fair enough - its not something you ever want to try to force as it needs to be at her own time and comfort level. I would try to sneak away and try it yourself sometime. If it is something you really dig ( pretty sure it will be) then the next step maybe to try and find a secret little spot the two of you can get naked alone. Even if she only tries a really daring suite she would never wear in public, or goes topless it will be fun for you both and a little exhilarating for her to feel the suns heat is place its never seen. It will plant a seed in her or close the door and you know you need to attend solo if you want to.

Or she attends with you and stays in her suit not everyone goes naked. (a shame really but a fact) but then you can enjoy it while she feels it out - go somewhere you aren't likely to meet anyone you know.
Careful of the burn and careful not to press too hard, little steps sometimes. She may surprise you one day.

Well here's the thing - take it for what it is worth but a little story. (if it doesn't get censored its the moral that is my point)

I was body shamed as a kid when a group of older girls I was mouthing off to about the size of my appendage and what I could do with it. (so I deserved it, I do admit) They chased me down and between the 5 or 6 of them yanked off my pants. Laughed at and mocked me for my size and a lack of hair - made me chase them around half naked for some distance... to recover my pants.
So no end of jokes and cruelty to follow when word got out on what had happened, I felt like a schmuck and now the world knew I was hung like a sand flee.
In the neighbourhood I grew up in ya best be able to back up your claims or you would be called out on it. Horrifying right?! Well I did my own share of dishing to others so Karma !!

It was not long after that, my Friend and I discovered the nude beach and although it took till the second trip down to the beach for me to get the courage to just drop my gear and lay out naked in the sun like my buddy (he I discovered defiantly didn't have the same issue lol) - but I also discovered that Man is not always created equal as the good book claims, but more importantly - there was not an eye batted at me, finger pointed, not a joke mentioned, there were no horrify comments, or laughter shared around me. The day went on like nothing happened and I was just another naked person on the beach, and man it felt great.

In the many (almost 50) years since going to that nude beach, there have been odd times I have had people do a double take and I have seen the odd girl elbow a friend and have a long look but they are few and far between and I have never had any ill effect from people seeing me. I am a grower not a shower, what can I say. (It is pretty much average or above when erect so off the beach it has not been an issue either)

As you pointed out we are not all the same; People come in all shapes and sizes, colours and orientations, We are far more self-conscious of our own bodies than anyone else seems to be aware of us.
It became my opportunity to feel confidence and proud and it was a massive weight that floated off every time I went there. People seemed friendly and welcomed us into their circles and it was a little community of free spirits. ( the same beach today has a little different vibe than those days, but the biggest change is all the textiles that frequent it now). If only they'd join in - but that's for another thread.

I say it over and over, often and loudly. If you have never done it, try it once, at your own time. Its not for everyone - not every time is the right vibe, but I have yet to hear anyone come away saying they did not love the experience and would never do it again.... ya need to experience it to understand that.

I grew up nudist and going to the beach as an infant.

 

My first tie on a nude beach was sensational. Studland and really really enjoyed it, lady next to me was naked with her dog, just felt normal.

My wife was very straight-laced when I met her and getting naked in public was not something she ever even thought of doing. For the longest time I tried to get her to go to a nude beach, but she refused. She absolutely did not want to be nude in public. Not to say that she hasn’t indulged me in my not-at-all-straight-laced activities, but I am 100% certain that she would not have sex with the windows open on her own.

One very overcast day I got her to at least walk down to see a nude beach. It was her very first time and she was decidedly nervous. We hiked down the trail to Stinson Beach, and there was nobody there. It was empty. Not a single person as far as you could see in any direction.

I said nobody was anywhere around and asked if she would undress just to try it out. We found a spot and got undressed. She was reluctant but her anxiety was reduced since nobody was there. She had no tan, but I think that was the least of her concerns. With the imarine layer it was definitely very cool. Cool enough that my wife draped a sweater over her shoulders. I think it probably served as a dual purpose warming and hiding her nudity. After a while it started to burn off. Started. It was still pretty overcast when I noticed a clothed guy quite a way down the beach walking along the shore in our direction. While he was still far off, I told my wife that somebody was coming and she dropped the sweater off of her shoulders. He walked by, smiled and continued on. That was the ONLY person we saw that day. Still, the ice was broken, and nudity in front of others became much easier for her after that. So much so, that she told me she told me she now hates wearing bathing suits.

She has become a very confident person (and is no longer straight-laced, much to my delight).

 

Speaking of nude beaches or in this case semi-nude beaches, earlier today

Massachusetts Attorney general’s office approves Nantucket topless beach proposal

Attorney General Maura Healey’s office has given the green light to a bylaw amendment that Nantucket voters approved in May, allowing anyone to go topless on public or private beaches on the island, where celebs and other vacationers come to unwind every summer.

“We approve the Town’s vote authorizing any person to go topless on any public or private beach in Nantucket because we discern no conflict between the vote and the Constitution or laws of the Commonwealth,” Assistant Attorney General Margaret J. Hurley, who heads the office’s municipal law unit, wrote to Nantucket Town Clerk Nancy L. Holmes in a letter dated Tuesday.

 

don't know what washington's nudity law is or if anybody really evenknows, think its's kind of a gray area since the thing in seattle around nude sundbathers at lake washington a bunchof years back. orecon and california permit it statewide afaik. hopefully here that'sll change soon too

anyways.... there's this kind of remote public river beach i go to outside of town that's a 1/2 a mile hike from a county park that's a great place to get your full body tan because of its seclusion and realative level of privacy. i've also seen other nude sunbathers out there too once in awhile, not officially a nude beach but as good of one as your'e going to get on this side of the river for the forseeable future, until olympia finally gets on the ball(s) and legalizes it statewide

obviously if kids come round bikini or speedo+sports bra goes back on (or stays on) until they leave

 

My first time at a nude beach was at Haulover in Miami.

My wife isn't a nudist. I travel for work and when I'm working in Miami, I try to find time to go to Haulover.

I was nervous my first time. I had never been nude in public. But, I found a good spot, put down my towel, undressed and put on some sunscreen. ALWAYS use sunscreen.

I'll admit, I did enjoy seeing the other nudists and I got a thrill from letting myself be vulnerable.

I walked up and down the beach and went in for a swim.

It was an amazing day and I just wish that I could have shared it with someone.
