So, yesterday I went to my first nude beach, Playalinda Beach in Fl. Honestly it was my first time being nude anywhere outside my house. I gotta say it was an unbelievable experience. I was nervous but only for a minute then it felt normal. Maybe I got lucky for my first time, there were a lot of couples and several single women. One lady sat down and talked to me for about 30 minutes. It wasn’t weird and not sexual at all. I can’t wait to go back. Hopefully this won’t be my only time. We don’t have any nude areas where I live.
Was it crowded? How far away were you from anybody else? I was just wondering if this woman was just walking by and decided to sit down and chat or how did it happen. The reason I'm curious is that I also had my first nude beach experience at Haulover last summer and spent 6 days on the beach and never said a word to anyone the whole week except the food truck when I ordered. Nobody came and sat down to chat or anything like that. Barely even got eye contact when just walking up and down along the shoreline.
It was pretty crowded, not crazy but there were people everywhere. She walked by and we vetted for a minute then she sat down for a while. We talked sone more and she left. I went back today and got the nerve to talk to a couple. They invited me to sit under their umbrella and we hung out all day. In the end I left and they gave me their number. Who knows.
That just amazes me how this stuff seems to happen everybody else, except me. So she just walks by, apparently very close, you make eye contact and she just decides to sit down and talk?
Well I never had a first NUDE beach scene... it was always naked sailing on boats!!! Everyone would drop their drawers, remove their whatevers and enjoy the sun, the wind, the freedom!!! But that leads to sunburn in sensitive areas...leading to much death of aloe plants.
I always think in general people on nudist beaches are much friendlier than they are on textile beaches. It's probably the more laid back lifestyle that nudists lead that makes them more open and more friendly.
Just a few simple words like "It's a lovely day isn't it?" often can lead to a longer conversation, and who knows, sometimes even friendships can start that way.
How crowded was Haulover? I have read that it can be a ghost town some days yet too busy to even find a place to sit down other days, depending when you go. If I get there this summer, I want to go on a busy day!
It wasn't that crowded. Sunday was the most crowded but even with that there was plenty of room. During the week the nearest people to me were probably 50ft or more away. I didn't get to go on Friday because my feet were so injured I could barely walk so I stayed in my room and left early Saturday morning. So the Friday and Saturday crowd I'm assuming would probably be like Sunday. It's a bigger place than I imagined.
It's official! We are going to Haulover this summer! We will be staying near the south end of the nude section as we will be a family. I hope it's busy for the commodore yet not too busy for parking. We plan to go a few times as our hotel isn't too far away. If I go alone some of the time, I don't understand what I do with my stuff--just leave it, go in the water, and hope it's not taken? Hopefully the family will all be there together, though, so not a worry. I think I understand the beach well enough, but I want to do more research (i.e. way over-think it).
I was worried about my personal belongings too before I went but it turned out fine. About every hour or so I would either stroll the entire length of the beach or so in the water and no one bothered my stuff while I was away.
