lol aint it though?? seems like they shouldnt even be allowed to go.. completely missing what its all about..
I saw them in 03 and twice in 04. Im not too crazy about that kind of music live, I usually listen to it when Im relaxing at home. But truly, if there is any concert in the world where anything goes and people can feel free to be themselves entirely, this is it lol. Each time I went, it was packed with people from every walk of life, drunks, stoners, doctors, spirituals, partyers, bums, etc. Of course I barely remember the concerts lol, but knowing me I probably showed up in a plain white button shirt and my grey slacks, and I was offered MDMA and LSD left and right and walked around feeling right at home. Most people are there to spread love and happiness and listen to their favorite band, if anyone is even sober enough to notice what another was wearing, they should be dragged into the back of a van, pumped with n2o and microdots, and thrown right back in.
im old school, when jerry died the dead died.. back in the day we didnt call them the grateful dead,we called them the dead,so i cant go along with the use of the name the dead.. i was fine with the other ones because thats what they are.. there is no dead without jerry...
Yea I bet! And it's not like I went into the concert expecting it to be mediocre because of only hearing the albums Jerry played on, I actually was very excited. But it was not worth any big ticket prices, and not worth having huge sweaty drunk men bump into me on the lawn all night and have beer spilled all over me when people kept stumbling through the crowd lol.
it wasnt worth big ticket prices in the day.. of course back in the day ya didnt have to pay big ticket prices...
*sigh* I agree. "The Dead" are going to be playing near my city and the prices are ridiculous. To me, No Jerry. No Dead. Still, it'd be a nice experience for anyone who's never seen the Grateful Dead before, but make no mistake... this is VERY different. As for not knowing what to wear. Cut the poor girl some slack... clearly she's never been to a concert like this before. My advice would be to dress comfy... definitely in something you feel good dancing in
What evs...being a judgemental prick isn't really what it's all about either. We all have our flaws...I have my clothe's obsession, you have being an asshole.
how would you know what its all about, youve never been..lol you should dose her crummy.. show her what its really all about..lol
............................................................................................ There may be clothing for sale at the place where you purchase the bong. Long skirt. diferent strings of beads. perhaps a shawl or poncho if it will be cold, flat soled shoes. or boots. kerchef or bandanna for the hair. Break out some of that old jewelry and accessories. If your going to see the Dead and worrying about what you should wear you should just sell your ticket. It's a concert, not a fashion show lol.
^yup. and believe me, many who go to these shows are thinking about what they're going to wear. Otherwise, the folk who make and sell clothes on the lot would be out of business.
I had so much fun. It was def my favorite date ever. The people were way chill and nice. The food in the lot was the best food I've ever had in my life. It was so nice to not have to worry about beef products being in everything. We went to Napa the day before and did some shopping and ate dinner. Then headed to our hotel, which was tres cool, especially for the price. The next day we spent all day in the lot havign a good time and then went to the show, which was really good. I can't wait for the next one!
PS-I wore the new jeans I got the day before, a black tee and a short sleeve, oversized, black linen cardigan and flip flops. I felt really good about myself because the new clothes were all two sizes smaller than I wore even just a month ago. It felt awesome to lose some of the weight I needed to lose, be in an enviorment with good people and be with the love of my life, all in he same day . I felt so comftrable!
Wow, it's been 18 years since I've been to a show... Brings back memories. I would love to go just to hang out, & to get some goodies. Happy to hear you had a great time! :cheers2:
