It is always something here to worry about. My cat, Finnegan has something going on with his eyes. The cornea skin goes half way to the center of his eyes, and his eyes are looking so unfocused to me lately. I have noticed this for a little while now, so just made an appointment with him for the vet tomorrow. NOW WHAT!? I will come back to this thread after I hear what this is. I feel scared for him. I love this cat.
have anything poisonous laying around? plants, medications, automotive things.. the cat may have eaten?
Not that I know of...My other cats and dogs do not have this problem, and Finnegan has not been outside in a long time. He just sleeps....and comes around to eat once in awhile.....He is a tiger that looks like Lucky cat, who I posted a photo of here not too long ago.... Finnegan is usually a grumpy cat, and bullies Mewey, my 15 year old female, all of the time....He has a pointy head....and I have asked about this many times....like a cone coming off the top of his head, and never really got an answer as to what that is, but Finney seems to read my mind. I am convinced he is a reincarnate of another cat I had named Chico. Chico got run over by a car at my last house. I screamed and was depressed for months. The night he died, my doorbell rang, and no one was there....and when I first moved here, Finney went back and forth and back and forth across the dirt road here in front of me like trying to tell me...I won't get hit here. Alot of strange things with this cat.
With eyes especially it is always wise to see a vet as it is not something to fool around with. Hope when you go it is nothing serious and that what ever it is, is easily fixed.
I feel cursed...It is always the cats I am closest to that I lose...Every single time.... I don't want to go there....he may be ok...Tomorrow is the earliest they can fit him in.....
maybe it has a headache. animals get headaches like people too. there is nothing actually wrong with cat. It just has a headache. like people get , cat cant tell you, "hey man Ive a headache leave me alone for a while"...
I have a friend who has a cat who is actually blind and has been so for years. Snooks is active and happy and adjusted to that happening. I am not saying that it is the case with your cat at all but remember animals are very adaptable. I know it is upsetting when one of our critters is off but try to not think the worst and instead wait and see what is really going on with Finnegan. Always hope for the best!
Yeah, will wait to talk to my vet before I imagine the worst.... It is strange how Finney came to me, too...After about a year, I was ready to look for another kitten....to fill in the void left by Chico....I went to the ASPCA to look at cats they might have there, and was in the waiting room when a woman walked in with a kitten that she was going to leave at this ASPCA, and said to me almost right away...."Oh, you looking for a cat?"...and she just dropped him in my arms.....without even talking to the people at the ASPCA....Finney was only a kitten....about 6 weeks old....so it felt meant to be.....nad then I started noticing things ...strange things right off the bat, and said to myself...:This is Chico!"
I hate Finney when he bullies Mew and stop it every time....I never understood what that was all about but it has always been that way. Poor Mew.... I also hate my pugs when they get intot a canine pack mentality and try to kill Champy, lead old dog.....and make him collapse and convulse. I hate them when they do that!
Thank goodness Finney has only 3rd eyelid and needs eye drops for the next two weeks. He will be fine. He is very healthy... Finney as a kitten and as an adult photos....
Hahahaha...2 of my cats are pretty big and fat, Finney and Oscar....Minxy, has stomatitis, and I keep telling Finney and Oscar to please share some of their weight with her. She is very skinny.....
Yeah my female kitty is pretty small / skinny. The vet says she's completely healthy but I've tried fattening her up to no avail. I actually need a male to give her companionship.
Happily, has she been spayed yet? My cat was emaciated until we got her spayed. The vet thought we were neglecting her, she was so thin . Once she got fixed she gained weight quickly, and is now at a normal weight .
No I am afraid to spay her because I really don't want to put her through the stress of surgery I was actually thinking about this exactly topic this morning.
My cat seemed to recover later that day and fully recover a week later. I know it can be stressful, but unless you want to breed her, it's probably better off. Obviously, I don't know her background story, though! My kitty is sleeping peacefully next to me .
