At last the decision has been made to upgrade/migrate these forums to xenforo! Xenforo has the most advanced interface, esp for mobiles. These boards have really been a drag since they were installed. We were going to upgrade to a newer version of what we have now, but it looks like crap, and every forum with IP Board is just about dead these days... We will need to bring down the forums for a day or possibly more to do the migration to Xen. It looks like they're just about to upgrade the Xen software to a whole new version soon. We'll do the migration anyways... hopefully this weekend.
Hahaha wished I'd seen this back in November. I had no clue what was going on. I was just like, "OMG Hip Forums is gone!!" Then it came back better than ever Really appreciate the upgrade, Skip
I liked the feature where you could go to someones home page and leave messages. Maybe I'm not describing exactly as I mean------the messages were not open to everyone. I'm sure Skip and Chris know what mean.
I was happy to see Xenforo here also..... Skip had been talking of IPB4 which wouldnt have been good..... Im glad he went to this
think I got it. I just did a practice one and it seemed to have worked. Thanks! except, followup question. I saw someone like embed a gallery photo into a thread. how's this possible??
No clue. Skip or Chris field that one. I posted a picture once and half the board couldn't see it. I still don't understand the permissions and how it all works
typically you can post a picture that's hosted online (here or anywhere else) by right clicking the image and selecting "copy image address" or "copy image URL" or whatever similar option is offered depending on your browser. then you can either put the copied URL into image tags, or paste it into the image button that is near the middle of the toolbar at the top of the reply box. as far as the permissions, i don't have a gallery here so i don't know the exact details, but in general i think you just want to have your image set to be public rather than private or friends only or whatever other options exclude some people from seeing it.
