nice! John Mayer is so cool! I haven't seen him, or the dead for that matter... I was fifteen and in boarding school when Jerry Garcia passed away of a heart attack. But I like Mayer as a front man. He has a great vocal prowess about him!

I've seen John Mayer live, playing John Mayer music. He was really good, preferred it to his studio stuff.

If you're taking Acid and/or MDMA, I'd recommend setting up a landmark prior to the trip to reconvene at. Sometimes people like to wander, mingle or be in their own space at concerts.

I suppose not a concern if you're camping or have assigned seats.

my landmarks are the handicapped zone. 25 yard from beer in both directions. at least the one outdoor venue we use. havent lost my company/ group yet doing it that way. Center stage grass.

The show went from 7-11pm but it didn't really get far out until the sun went down.

Also I have videos so if anyone feels like helping out a technological illiterate with uploadin' them please pm me. Oh! And personal summary and thoughts are inbound soon. Enjoy the pics

20 years ago I would have made the trip out there just for the hell of it.

How many Deadheads does it take to change a light bulb?

None. They wait for it to burn out and follow it around for thirty years.

Pig is dead. Jerry is Dead.
Rock n roll may as well be dead.

People trying to grab a piece of the pie
One that was baked, and spoiled, long long ago

    Fuck it

    Jerry was pure love though

I've seen The Dead/Further,etc in a few various incarnations, none of them with Jerry
And it was awesome but I dont think it really compares to footage I've seen from shows when Jerry was still alive. He just had something special, brought a special vibe to it.

But as long as Bobby is still around the Dead is still the Dead to me

Jerry might not be at the show in person but he certainly on stage in spirit.

Alright finally got some down time so heres my thoughts. For a first experience I couldn't have asked for better. I've loved the Dead since I was 14 and my dream first concert has been them or Floyd for as long as I can remember. The first thing that really struck me was the vibe of the people there. Very chill and groovy. Everyone was real cool with each other. With each song I found myself gettin more and more into the music, so much so that I was feelin' high without any drugs, as such when the break came I was able to do some personal meditation even while itching for the next song. When I got there I told myself someone would offer me green. After the intermission two people did and I left with a good buzz and a roach.

About 10 they started a more psychedelic kick and man....that was some far out shit. Then came the 15 minute triple drum set which really blew my mind. All in all it was real intense last half until Stella blue. Then we switched to a more classic bluesy vibe.

In the end I really was into it and can't wait for another experience.
