Not that it makes much difference but USA beat Ghana 2-1; I think they’re ready now to take on the Jamaican Bobsled Team

Ghana is actually a really good team and almost made it to the semi finals last world cup. A lot of their players play in the EPL or la liga like the rest of the teams competing.

Yup, after the each team in their groups face each other, the two best will move to the knockout rounds where it gets really exciting :)

I was just being facetious, because looking ahead they wouldn't stand a chance against teams like Germany

Any team on a given day can produce an upset.

This is pretty much correct. Although it is harder in soccer than other sports

Some of the analyst were joking around saying that the first game to be 0-0, the teams should be sent home, since all the other games were so exciting. lol

How do the MLS players from America compare to the average Euro league player who may be on a national team? I have always assumed MLS would be minor league compared to that since they probably have allot less money to attract stars.

The vast majority of top US athletes choose between the six most popular sports in america - none of which include kicking around a Bucky-ball, Buckminster Fullerene, Carbon 60 atom....etc.....

People who play in europe, specifically the EPL, bundesliga, la lagia, ialian serie A, french ligue 1,.. are playing at a higher level than the MLS. The MLS does have some really good players though. but all those leagues r much better overall

We are up against the Nether regions on Thursday morning.

Aus beat them in the (field) Hockey World cup final on Sunday, not that that even got any attention here, didnt even make the front of the sports section

Im ready for a laugh, its going to be like 7 - 0, our chance of producing an upset is just about 0

I would say Euro is way more fun to watch, but a lot of fun players come from California, from my experience there many people train their whole lives to get into the world cup. It's just not as popular in the states though, so it doesn't capture a lot of attention

I like how if you win the Super Bowl you're "world champs" in a competition with only American teams.
