Who would have thought one of these simple rotational ball Bering devices would be so satisfying?

I can keep myself occupied one one of these things for hours.

I made a couple with my son out of skateboard wheel bearings and zip ties.

This is a simple one, we also made them with four bearings and five bearings.

well i've finally seen a picture of one, posted by someone who has a (kind of cat+squirrel+bat combo) 'sona by that name.
(they've had/been that character for years, long before this gizmo was ever named that)
still haven't had my own paws on one yet.
after the popularity thing dies down, i'm sure they'll start showing up at 99 cent stores and the goodwill.

it looks to me, like it may once upon a time have been a part for something else,
and someone in a parts place may have been playing with it all the time,
and that gave someone the idea that they could sell them to people to play with.

from the shape of it, looks like something to tie three lines to as part of some sort of shelter,
or a flex point for some sort of machinery.
i mean i can see three levers, two pushing and pulling objects on a factory or sorting line, pivoting on the center, and being pushed by the third as part of a reciprocating mechanism.

i wonder if they worked at ups/fedex/the post office, or someplace similar like that.
well that's just the way my mind works when i see something like that.

Lol because of fidget spinners? When I was a kid pogs were all the rage. POGS. My mom played with tops, jacks, and marbles when she was a kid.

I still see tops occasionally, they aren't cheap because now they're considered nostalgia toys.

    It will be okay.

I think its kind of depressing

I would have expected more in this day and age from the latest craze

10 years after tamagotchi, and what do we get? steel bearings and cheap plastic

I think it means the human race has de-evolved

Pokemon Go seemed to have died out pretty quickly BTW

I get them, in a way. Most of us just fidget with other stuff we have handy--tapping and clicking pens, bending paper clips, biting our nails, etc. Someone saw an opportunity here.

Gotta capitalize on relieving the anxiety created and manufactured by our stressed out society ;).

i would like to point out that playing marbles is a game and requires skill.....spinning tops also require some dexterity.....also jacks....a game and can be a hard game too lol.......pogs were collectables and i thik there was a game aspect no?

i am guilty of buying eugio cards for my son when he was small...hundreds of dollars worth......

i think my first really useless fad was clackers...my best uncle worked as a toy salesman so i was in on the ground floor of the clacker craze

lastly...while my 3 grandkids all have faces buried in devices occasionally all 3 can play cats cradle.....

...with a string...not the online cats cradle :)

Popping bubble wrap is a better stress reliever and more fun I would imagine

    Either that or basket weaving
