i got some fern fiddleheads at my food co-op. i was told to boil them or they'd be tough. has anyone ever tried these? i thought they might be good with mushrroms. i've got some criminis, and i figured i'd saute them with the boiled fiddleheads, with maybe some carot or onion. any other suggestions?

steaming them is the nicest way i find.. then they dont get all mushy! just add a little lemon juice and salt/pepper to flavor them.. vinegar is good too if you're into that sorta thing.

I think you can use them in just about any recipe that calls for asparagus too. I've never had any trouble with that. :)

Love them in stir fries. :D
