this summer I am planning on attending (so far) Freedom Fest, Somerset county jam fest, wallow at clay hallow, webejammin fest, hempstock, great bay music festival, Beltek, and both harvest fests in Maine. did most of those last year, this time around though I want to find some psy trance fests.

I really didnt like earthcore. As far as going out into the country and tripping with a bunch of friends goes, it was pretty good, but as far as a festival goes it was extremely poorly organized with most of the main international acts pulling out cos they werent getting paid. Check out Rainbow Serpent Festival on australia day weekend. That will be a great festival. lots of good psytrance and other styles too.
Yeah - Spiro fucked everything. I was excited for months before about Ticon and Protoculture... Pretty much the entire reason I was going. Did you go to the after party too? I bought tickets because Ticon was supposed to be going. The sound was SHIT. SHIT! It was clipping (!!!) during Juno Reactor. Everywhere you looked there was someone with their fingers in their ears because the music was soo piercing. Did you read Dave the Drummer's blog on the ordeal? It's a really interesting read. This will be my first rainbow - I'm soo psyched.
I didnt go to the after party. id had enough partying for a few weeks lol. I did read the blog, couldn't believe the shit the artists where going through. And then how Spiro screwed up bringing Shpongle out Hope u have fun at rainbow, i decided not to go. It will be way too hectic for me, i would take too much acid get no sleep for four days and have to go back to work with no energy left. Go hard or go home as they say. Gonna have a little acid party at my place instead with the few of my friends left in melbourne.
you should definitely look into Camp Bisco...it may not be what you're looking for, but who knows. Check out the line ups from previous years.
on the east coast you want to get to Gaiian Mind Festival. pretty much the biggest psytrance one for the summer during the full moon in that region. http://gaian-mind.com/ another good east coast fest is World Bridge in asheville, NC. last year the lineup was pretty dope. they had dylalien, ghreg on earth, primordial ooze, dragon. http://www.touchsamadhi.com/ touchsamadhi also throws a festival called Vortex in the summer too, its definitely worth cheking out.. also for a more National level festival you should check out AUM. http://www.aumfestival.net/ the bi-annual gathering of the North American tribes. im gunna go to the gathering of the vibes, mountain jam, ive never been to bonaroo but i plan to this year, not even sure how much it costs, but ill find a way in... always do
tickets are mad expensive this year...ima guess 300 or so...ima wait and see if the lineup gets any better...but volunteer for that, man its worth it...slash ive known a few ppl to sneak into ROO, but i am not encouraging that haha

if your in ny you should check out Mountain jam, its on hunter mountain, i havent checked out the line up yet, but its bound to be good.
i am def goin to beltek now its the weekend after vibes so no schedule conflict! yea i was gonna go to jam but i heard security has gotten pretty tight over the years and i cant risk gettn arrested
yeah well dont bring shit in, get it while your there, plenty of deals to be had inside. and the last day is the best overall, low security and cheap deals, and great music
true, ive only done it once, and worked during crappy shows...but i was still spun half the time i was working...and trust me my best friend goes to all fests like this, and shes never sober!!!! but i feel you, you dont have complete freedom haha
