Feeder Kittens??

Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! Such perversion of the evolutionary theory I cannot stand!! Life isn't a step ladder! There's no "top rung" where humans are, and rungs and rungs down there are mice!!! All organisms are facets of life, and all organisms are adapted to whatever they are adapted to. Humans aren't superior to mice because they have larger brains, or because they are bigger, or even because they have opposable thumbs!! I'd like to see you try to do a mouse's job better than a mouse! You can't because a mouse is adapted to what it does! You can't do what an amoeba does better than an amoeba, you can't do what an orangutan does better than an orangutan. And you have the sheer gall to say that Humans are at the top of the evolutionary ladder?? That we are the pinnicle of existance?? We, who have fucked up this planet more than any asteroid or ice age?? Well, fuck that shit.

 

Settle down big guy. I think most humans agree that we are the most intelligent and advanced life form. This does not give us the right to destroy the planet or force the extinction of any other species, even an organism detrimental to us such as the smallpox virus. We have stockpiles of the virus that we could certainly destroy, but there are good reasons not to- research, the fact that this virus exists is reason enough, we don't have the right to destroy it.

I'm an environmentalist and I care for the rights of animals, but I do recognize that there is a hierarchy of life.

So you would have no qualm feeding a human baby to a large snake? I mean come on, I personally would rather kill a slug than a panda. I avoid doing either, but in order to think this through, scenarios such as this must be considered. I support the death penalty as well because I admit a hierarchy within our own species. Those that kill are at the bottom and are undeserving of life. IMO.

I enjoy hiking and backpacking and if I was doing so in grizzly territory (its home) and I was attacked and killed I would definitely not want the bear to be shot because of it. They have a right to defend their dwelling. The same goes for swimming in waters that sharks frequent. That's a risk a human takes.

Don't put words in my mouth, I never said we are the pinnacle of existence, something may evolve that is more capable than we are, but it's doubtful. Also, not all humans "fuck up the planet". My lifestyle is not particularily injurious to the planet compared to most. As a species we do, but some of us are working hard to change that. I believe that our future actions will prove that we are virtuous beings.

I'm a vegetarian and I love animals, but one has to be reasonable. Why do you think so many people hate environmentalists and animal rights activists? Also, you should not be a hypocrit, would you allow an animal to feed on you, there are plenty that would.

 

Sure as hell I'd let an animal eat me, if it could catch me an kill me first...

 

Well, how is feeding a kitten to a snake any more heartless than feeding it rats? What, kittens are cuter? The snake NEEDS to eat, and you can't nuke some soy mice for it or anything. How is keeping the snake alive not respecting life?

I'm a vegetarian not because I find eating animals per se cruel and unusual, I disagree with the way they are factory farmed. I can go veg, but wolves? Snakes? Lions? Sharks? They've gotta eat something.

 

i work with wildlife and am an advocate for animals and i have this to say: are you completely stupid? i hope this is your dumb way of trying to be funny or get a rise out of people because if you are at all serious you need some counseling and mental help immediately!!

of course it is wrong dumbass. first they are a domestic not wild animal, so there is no such thing as a 'feeder kitten', second they are not the natural food for any snake or other wild animal, so they wouldn't want it anyway, unless of course you starved the snake and then only gave it that as a food source. but that is both ILLEGAL and riduculous!
people that evil (even in thought) are what makes humans a detriment to there own race!

 

because rats by nature are a prey species and a natural food for a snake, a kitten is not. come on get a grip! i am the biggest animal lover in the world, i dedicate my life to them, but there is the natural circle of life or web of life (however you want to view it) and kittens are not a wild part of it. they are a domestically created animal and therefore are not part of the predator-prey food chain.
also a fact for you, if there were no snakes (or if they didn't eat rats & mice), the world would be 3 FEET DEEP in mice and rats!!! true.

I wasn't arguing about the fact that kittens are not the natural prey of snakes, I was saying that it isn't any more heartless to feed a cute, fuzzy animal to a snake than an arguably revolting one.

I KNOW that there'd be too many rats without predators to eat them. And what does rat overpopulation have to do with my statement, anyway?

HAHAHAHAHA, i cant help but laugh at all the PETA memebers who have posted to this thread. CAT or RAT both are animals, and both have been kept by people as pets. The fact is in the shelter, there likely to be put to sleep, by an injection(or so they say) A snake eatin it is natural. I snake will eat a kitten, bird, mouse, rat, any small animal in the wild if it comes across one it can catch. Oh and birds are cute to and kept as pets.

The reason I don't keep snakes is because I don't like sending - be it rats or kitten or human babies - to their doom. But am I opposed to someone else doing it? No.

I am sure that dogs would prefer to be able to run wild too and not be fenced in or chained up and what about cats that are declawed and kept inside, so that doesnt make them good pets either, fish would probaly rather be in a lake or river or ocean, not in a glass box. Every pet was at one time wild in the history of its species, so that makes no animal a suitable pet. What kinda animals are you harboring against there will.



And for the record my two dogs run loos on a 12 acre feild(even though its against county law, and dont hafta come back if they dont want, if fact the stay gone for daze at a time.

No, I don't think so. Dogs are domesticated and have been for nearly 100,000 yrs. Unless you mistreat your dog, it will love you and wish to stay.
