Sheryl Crow's cover of "D'yer Mak'er" and Sara McLaughlin's cover of "Blackbird" are so great...

Some other ones I like a lot are 13th Floor Elevators' "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue", Ani Difranco's "Hurricane", The Beatles' "Hippy Hippy Shake", Blind Melon's "The Pusher", "John Sinclair", and "Out On The Tiles", The Doors' "Gloria", Hendrix's "Sunshine of Your Love", and Oasis' "I am the Walrus".

    Thats entertainment, Morrissey
All covers by The Beatles, particularly Please mr postman, Kansas city, Rock n roll music, and why does no one mention Twist and shout?

I may be the only person who thinks that Joe Cockers version of with a little help from my friends is overrated and that Ringos charming version is far better (with the others doing back up vocals) Cocker sounds like an asthma attack and those that say he is pouring emotion into it, it isn`t really appropriate for that song and what a waste of the melody.

His version of the Beatles Ill cry instead is excellent though.

I wouldn't call it exactly a cover...but Ben Harper's arrangement of Maya Angelou's I'll Rise kills. The Toots and the Maytals do a great, great version of Twist and Shout. Gov't Mule nailed No Quarter. Mayer showed his stripes with Lenny.

I can`t remember but it was bloody awful, Lennon transformed the song into something we can still feel today.

A few other Beatle covers 'Baby its you' 'Anna' 'Money' 'Soldier of love' 'To know her is to love her' and 'Slow down' 'Keep your hands off my baby'

Most of 'Live at the BBC' material is covers and most are fantastic.
