Although I like The Yes Album better, Fragile is a very close 2nd.

Fragile has 5% Of Nothing, Long Distance Runaround & The Fish which I view as one long song, and I feel it's better than anything on The Yes Album. However The Yes Album has Yours Is No Disgrace, Starship Trooper & I've Seen All Good People which I feel is better than the rest of Fragile. Therefore I have to give an overall highest score to The Yes Album. Well it has been one of my favorite albums since its release, and I got tired of Fragile and Close to the Edge.

100% agreed. That keyboard solo makes me cringe. Sounds like it belongs in some nude scene in a bad college art film.

I chose Topographic Oceans for this thread's poll. Heard Album/Fragile/Edge enough times over the years to know every split second of every song. Although, those albums 2003 reissues contain some really damn good alternate versions where you hear how those intricate Yes songs were put together. Plus the engineer who cleaned everything up on the regular versions did an absolutely stellar job.

Check out the alternate version of And You And I on CTTE reissue CD. That alone makes it worthy of purchase.

There's also extra added bits on the Topographic songs that were originally supposed to be on there upon initial release but had to be taken out because of the restrictions of vinyl.

    Fucking agreed!

I voted for Close to the Edge because that album isn't listed, but nothing compares to Yes live. I love everything from The Yes Album to Relayer, but Yessongs is the ultimate paradigm of the band and the best representation of their collective talents.

    Agreed ten thousand percent.

I dunno if I'd include Drama as 'classic'; but, Relayer was there. And Going for the One is a close second.

I have to say close to the edge is my favorite, but Relayer was a very close second, and TFTO was an even closer third.
