Yesterday we spent 7 hours at the pond, and I was a little toasty after. A cool shower, slathering on a mixture of coconut oil and aloe, and drinking a liter of water has me feeling much better today. What's your favorite after sun care?
I've found that persistent application of whatever your preferred moisturizer is works well. As soon as it soaks in, put on more haha
I go back out into the sun! Yeah it burns for a few minutes, But when warmed back up, Turn the burn into a tan. Im light skinned so any sun will burn me, I just go out and get it over with. But if I had to use something, It would be solarcaine sp?, Comes in an aerosol can and easy to spray on the relief!
Aloe. Real aloe, not the bottled crap with a million added chemicals. Also if you put some vinegar on a wet washcloth and press it on your skin it takes some of the sting out
I once was sunburned from top to toe to I think a serious degree. It was on the Balaton lake in Hungary. A few days later I could peel the skin of half my body (not in one piece unfortunately) :sunny: Never got so retardedly sunburned again.
I avoid excess sun like Dracula. Sun bathing is completely beyond me. I mean I like sunny destinations. But if I'm at the beach, I go right under one of those palm umbrella things. With Factor 50 on. And if I catch some sun (without meaning to), I can't get rid of my tan for ages.. People are white, yellow, tan/whaever. I don't see the pt in trying to change your skin type. I mean, I've got straight hair, so I wouldn't frizz it like an African. So why try and turn my skin like someone from the Equator? hehe
That sounds like burning your hand while cooking, then putting it right back on the burner lol. Haha, I'll draw my name. I've never heard of doing vinegar. I'll have to try that! Grosssssss. Peeling skin is awful. Interesting, never heard of that either. Lol, I wasn't sun bathing. I was swimming in the pond and playing in the sand with my friends, my guy, and my kiddos. arty:
there are 2kinds of hemorrhoid creams,, one with the veggie oil, the other with aloe vera. both have anti swelling drug in them. aloe one less oily of course..
I see. Accidental sun burn. Thats why I deliberately avoid trying to catch sun. Knowing how powerful it is anyway.
Best remedy - dark skin which is thicker and more resistant to harmful effects of the suns :cheers2: Hotwater
