There is a special place in my heart for Slightly Stoopid. I feel that they are largely underrated by music fans of all genres. I think a lot of people judge them too early as some Sublime imitation. But that couldn't be farther from the truth. I am a HUGE fan of Sublime, but I can understand why they are ill recieved by a lot of people. Stoopid started out with some of the same qualities. But people forget, that both of this albums were recorded while they were still in High School, under Bradley's record label, Skunk Records. When Brad died they started Stoopid Records on their own, and have been growing ever since. Their sound has developed into something special, and a lot of people are missing out because of silly preconcieved notions that they are some cheap imitation.

Check out some of their recent stuff. They recently picked up an "unofficial permanent member" in the most talented woodwind player I've ever heard, Karl Denson. You might know him from his band, the Tiny Universe. Over the last few years Stoopid has been playing a lot of music festivals, and you can here the influence of jambands coming out on their latest album, "Top of the world."
