zoot. his name was zoot. i loved the band! btw, for those who don't remember, the band was called dr. teeth and the electric mayhem. the members of the band were: dr. teeth (voice by henson himself) on keyboard and lead vocals, zoot on saxophone, animal on the drums, and floyd pepper and janis played guitars, but i don't remember which was bass. i think floyd was on the bass. scooter was their roadie. weird muppet trivia that no one cares about: in early muppet episodes janis was always shown with zoot, sometimes with their arms around each other. but by the time the muppet movie was released, janis was with floyd. i always wondered about this. what happened that caused janis and zoot to break up, and drive her into floyd's floppy, push-rod arms? was it a big sudden fight, or had she been carrying on with flyod behind zoot's back, taking their success at breaking into pictures as an excuse to leave him? i noticed zoot always seemed to be stoned or something. was this emotional withdrawl perhaps the reason she left him? did this cause tension within the band? did zoot even notice or care that janis was drawn to flyod before it was too late? were his long cold silences and emotional neglect of janis in fact a crying out for intimacy? or did she leave him just because floyd had better drugs? could they have been helped by counselling, or was their relationship doomed from the start? we may never know.
Sounds like a love triangle fit for 'Vetenarian's Hospital'! Janis liked the Sgt. Pepper look better than Zoot's tortured jazz musician fascade. And he was too narcaleptic and obsessed with Charlie Parker to give his woman the attention she deserved. The Electric Mayhem rocks! Let's not forget the '6th Beatle' of the group, trumpet player Lips, who joined the band in the early 80's. Personally, Animal's my favorite. Women and drums. That's what it's all about.
gonzo, swedish chef and beakers. and the pigs in space, hehe though, the feebles could kick the shit out of the muppets anyday. sometimes twice a day
Gonzo. He's so cute, how could you NOT love him? From Sesame Street I always related to Oscar the Grouch--and his worm slimey was awesome!
