I dont think its possible for me to choose a favorite dead song. But im surprised that no one has said "Cold rain & snow" as one of there favorites. The dead's catolog has such a wide variety of feeling, i guess choosing a fav really depends on the mood that your in, and how each song fits into it.

cold rain and snow is an awesome song, but its not really theres. my favorite version is by Del and Dawg (Del McCoury Band and David Grisman) it is so damn good. Del has the perfect voice for it...

What do you mean that " Cold Rain & Snow " is not a dead song. Ofcoarse it is. Look on wikipedia, its says right on there. Arguably the best song off there first album.

    Quin the Eskimo...
reason being.... my dad died when i was around 4 years old and i remember me and him always singing this song because my middle name is quinn (named after this song) now everytime i hear it it just reminds me of when me and my dad used to sing it...

Ripple is good, but compared to the other songs on that list it comes nowhere close.

Terrapin Station is a masterpiece, its got everything, 16 minutes of amazing amazing sound.
