u left out the two best one, st. stephen and jack straw. i would still listen to everything on that list b4 anything else by any other band though
I dont think its possible for me to choose a favorite dead song. But im surprised that no one has said "Cold rain & snow" as one of there favorites. The dead's catolog has such a wide variety of feeling, i guess choosing a fav really depends on the mood that your in, and how each song fits into it.
cold rain and snow is an awesome song, but its not really theres. my favorite version is by Del and Dawg (Del McCoury Band and David Grisman) it is so damn good. Del has the perfect voice for it...
favorite dead songs: ramble on rose terrapin station box of rain ripple till the morning comes if i had the world to give greatest story ever told let it grow row jimmy sugaree pride of cucamonga hight time jack straw mexacali blues sugar magnolia china cat sunflower st. stephen ect, ect, ect x 300
What do you mean that " Cold Rain & Snow " is not a dead song. Ofcoarse it is. Look on wikipedia, its says right on there. Arguably the best song off there first album.
you know iv never really been able to awnser that question. All of the Dead songs a grate. Yeah but i think that is a question i will never know because everytime i hear a Dead song it just adds on to the list of Dead songs that i love. I love every Dead song
Quin the Eskimo... reason being.... my dad died when i was around 4 years old and i remember me and him always singing this song because my middle name is quinn (named after this song) now everytime i hear it it just reminds me of when me and my dad used to sing it...
thats so cute! yeah my dad just passed away a few months ago, anyway we used to sing angie, by the stones together all the time so i love it, because it brings back great memories i know this is for dead songs, sorry.
Im always changing my damn vote so here is my list of favorite of what I have heard: Estimated Profit Dancing in the Streets Operator Candy man Terrapin Station Truckin' Fire on the Mountain Casey Jones many many more.
Scarlet Begonias, Fire on the Mountain, Space, Casey Jones, Touch of Grey Truckin, Sugar Magnolia Playing in the Band The Golden Road Bertha Terrapin Station = AMAZING Im probably missing lots, but ya.
i put down Ripple because that and throwing stones is tied for my favourite-seeing as how throwing stones ain't a poll choice, might as well pick Ripple!
Ripple is good, but compared to the other songs on that list it comes nowhere close. Terrapin Station is a masterpiece, its got everything, 16 minutes of amazing amazing sound.
