Favorite "board" Games?

"Board" is in quotes due to the variety of old school games. It's in lower case because I'm an idiot. Am I not able to edit the title on this forum?

nah, i think it's in lower case because the forum software is an idiot. the software decides which letters will be capitalized in a title, and it decides wrong in any circumstances that involve punctuation, or acronyms, or really anything other than the most basic of titles. and no, i don't think anyone but a mod can edit a title. and for some reason, they only edit titles that don't need edited. if a title is a complete mess and really needs edited, there's no way anyone's going to touch it.

 

oh, and i forgot to answer the question.

i don't really play board games at all anymore, but chess is the only one that i kind of miss. i've actually been trying to get back into it for years, but nobody else is willing to play.

 

I haven't played chess in a long time. When I did, I sucked. I have a hard time finding friends. I can't imagine how hard it is for good chess players to find friends. That kind of mind is rare.

 

In some cities there are public places to play chess. If you like you can find a friendly opponent to play a game there. You don't need to actually become friends (but it could even create a possibility)

I always play with the same friend, it is affecting my playing style (as I know how his general strategies)

 

Why Not Play Online.......I Realise It's Not The Same, But The End Result Is It Also Stimulates Your Mind.......

I agree, don't convict it before you try it. Playing chess online appeared to be not my thing though.

 

I just don't want to disappoint a stranger. I'd rather waste the time of an AI on easy. I wouldn't mind playing Pente in Tabletop SIm. I used to skunk our resident genius and chess master at it.

I have stand-alones in Steam of Fritz Chess, Battle Chess, Talisman, Splendor, Small World, Settlers of Catan, Hive, Carcassonne, Risk, Blood Bowl, and Space Hulk.

I got Ticket to Ride in a bundle, but the game seems to play itself.

None, anymore really, but I loved children's board games as a kid....Green Ghost, Operation, stuff like that...the fun ones.....I never liked anything with too much competition..........I liked what i liked for their cool parts.....glowing ghosts....anatomy parts, etc.

Forbidden Island and space alert sound cool, but my computer sucks with opening any links.....I got a blank page with your links.....

Basically, I liked and still like to just create my own things....paintings......stories...things i do quietly and alone......I was that way as a child and still am.

 

I think it has to do with not really being a people person. i am with themnax, when he says humans are his least favorite mammal.....I have been hurt by lots of people since a baby......so that may be why, but when I love anyone, it is with all of my heart forever, too....but for the most part.....blah, blah, blah.

I've been hurt over and over again as well. I just try to get better at spotting the abusers and stay optimistic. I'd love to find people to hang with, but it seems I'm considered too weird to even have a conversation.

 

So far you seem pretty okay to me and compassionate, as well.....good trait....
I can put on a show and be entertaining with people in a crowd or a group.....as i also was on the stage alot growing up.....but that is all it is.....Make them smile...be entertaining....and then go home and collapse.....LOL
