the beer i've drank the most of in my lifetime is Bud and Coors Light at a resturant on tap of the typical beers i will usually get the Okanagon Springs 1516, it's really good have a little spot for coronas as well
tomorrow is payday and i hate to say it but i think tomorrow or saturday after work might bring an excursion to the only store in my city that i know of that carries forêt..might pick up a bottle or three....one to drink that night, and one or two more for a special occasion
I usually go for some from a local brewery which also own a local pub. They make a great espresso stout with coffee beans, really dark and thick, likewise their oatmeal stout. And some nice fruity light pale ales... Belgian trappist beers made in the monasteries are great also, usually prefer the darker ones. As far as lager goes, Budvar (the original Budweiser!) is good as are Kronenbourg 1664 and Grolsch...
What every ones opinion on Heineken? My friends love it, personaly I think it tasts like skunk ass, with a hint of watermellon candy or some shit. Also Sam Adams? I think it hit or miss. The Pale Ale is good though. Ah another great one is moosehead. Theres so many I love, I'm going to be an alchy when I turn 19 and head to Canada.
after many the years of drinking i'm come to the conclusion that it don't matter what the beer is just as long as it's cold. but if u were to ask me what my pint was, it would have to be a pint of harp. (a devil bastard of a beer, leaves u talkin to walls befriendin strangers)don't think you get it in the states but after that i'd say a cool bottle of bud is second best.
If I have money, I like to drink Blue Moon. Definitely my favorite beer, but if I don't have enough money to buy that, I'll usually get Miller Light, since I can get a 30 pack for like $13 across the street.
i generally agree, but i do have to say i absolutely adore chimay cinq cents...but usually the darker and stronger, the better, in my opinion as for kronenbourg, i didnt expect much from it. i'd already heard of and tried many belgian, german, british, and north american beers, but i'd never heard of french beer, only french wine and brandy and such. i bought a sixpack, and later when i went home i looked it up on beeradvocate, and didnt hear anything particularly impressive about it. but i really liked it and was pleasantly surprised. i found it a bit fruity, incredibly refreshing, and a bit sweeter than some pils style beers, and not much hop bitterness but a good crisp flavor....very refreshing, and somewhat different but as high quality as nearly any average european golden lager. i think heineken is decent quality and drinkable, but is a very, very average pilsner style beer. its on the same level as becks, st. pauli girl, the likes. pressed rat once described heineken as being essentially a dutch version of becks, and i somewhat agree though i personally favor becks usually. i've had a lot of heineken that was skunked, but then it is also sort of just the nature of the beer. its a DEFINITE step up from budweiser or miller, but not fantastic, and i have personally notice some slight inconsistancy in quality. sam adams likewise is a step up from budweiser, miller and so on, but not fantastic. you're right, it is pretty hit and miss. overall i'd say i like more of their beers than i dont, and think its a quality brewery even if its no longer a micro. i'm particularly fond of their black lager (in the schwarzbier style) and their octoberfest (marzen style) yeah, as was mentioned harp is very available in the us. oddly enough i've only tasted it once, but wasn't very impressed at all. however it was early in my days as a beer drinker and it was in combination with eating a greek salad, so i can't put too much stock in that particular past perception of the beer....still, i am not too likely to try it again anytime soon. last night i named a saison as my favorite beer, and it is, but i have since reconsidered and decided to give maharaja imperial indian pale ale, by avery brewing in colorado, an honorable mention as possibly one of my all time favorites. rich and malty with a HUGE hop character, bittersweet, with big floral and citrus hop flavor and aroma, with only moderate hop bitterness....its like they added tons of hops right at the very end of the brew. its exquisite...i picked up a bottle after work....in the fridge right now....i can't wait
I like budweiser, select, light, and natty (probably only cause i drink so much of it). I like to drink bud with a meal but to get fucked up i go for natty since its so cheap.
drinking the maharaja right now and loving the bitterness, citrus, and floral qualities of it...simply incredible. beeradvocate shows slightly higher ratings for stone's ruination IPA, and i fucking LOVE ruination as well, but i still prefer maharaja
Well i currently have a bud light in my hand. I usually drink bud light or bud ice. Some others i like are PBR, natural ice, bud select, heineken, anything leinenkugel (honey and berry weiss are my favorites), killeans irish red (sp?). Im pretty easy to keep happy, give me a cold bud and im happy!
and whats up with everyone and OE.......tastes like dirty piss water IMO. Not trying to offend anyone, just curious why the ones who said they like it, do?
