The best band to come out of the 80's is the Pixies.

Ozric Tentacles, Black Uhuru, Iron Maiden and Outskirts of Inifinity are my favourites from the eighties. Closely followed by bands like Saxon, Diamond Head, Mercyful Fate/King Diamond, Witchfynder general and many others. :D

Mojo rising, i think i love you. I love the Cult and Tom Petty, but my heart will always belong to Mr. Richie Sambora of BON JOVI! Im surprised not many are talking about them! Obviously the best thing from the 80s!

i answered this about two years ago, but I will again say the best band of the 1980s has got to be Stevie Ray Vaughn and Double Trouble.

I realized none of them are exclusively from the 80's, and i wasn't alive for much of the 80's, muchless listening to music, but I really like these guys stuff from the 80's.

For the few that said Slaughter in this thread way back, you should have seen him before he became famous. He was from Las Vegas, and was in a local band called Excursion. I got to see that band a couple of times, was some great music he and they put out.
