Hmm... I don't know about that... some people are fat due to health problems, not the amount of food they eat. Maybe they should tax fat people after analyzing the causes of their being fat - and select only those who do eat a lot.
And don't forget the famous slogan: A Waist is a Terrible Thing to Mind (you see, that's a play on the United Negro College Fund slogan, 'A Mind is a Terrible Thing to Waste') .
Well, then how about forcing companies who produce this stuff to put a photo of a 700lb naked person on the products... with a warning TOO MANY TWINKIES MAY CAUSE OBESITY Or a diseased heart on a Big Mac box...EAT AT YOUR OWN RISK Come on Jimmy, work with me here...
People who eat meat should pay a lot more. I'm sick of subsidising them in restaurants. What, they pay 15 quid for a steak and I pay 14 quid for a crappy vegetarian carbonara? Fuck that. The world is facing a food crisis because people eat too much meat. I'm not saying everyone stops eating meat, just less. Meat uses far more of the planets resources to produce than vegetables. When the world runs out of food, they all the steak munchers will come to me asking for a bite of my tofu burger, just you wait and see.
well, i do get some phenomenal elk and deer from the depredations hunts to get the herds off your soy fields...and the meat is so good.
ah god, more fucking propaganda. i'm not going to anyone for a fucking tofu burger unless its to take it a throw it out for them.
I think a higher tax on junk food in general is a good idea. No one should be eating processed garbage, thin or fat. It causes cancer, psychological problems and hormone imbalances. It should get a tax that goes to sustain organic farms int he US.
Don't forget though that taxation as a form of coercion generally does not work. It doesn't stop people from smoking, or drinking too much.
Hell no. I crave junk food for about four days each month....I don't think a cashier would want to deal with me if I was forced to pay more.
Mmmm Hmmm. I'm like a rockstar around here for being kinda cut. Organic food doesn't have any less carcinogens than GMO food. It's been extensively tested. It's a marketing gimmick.
so do we tax high fat foods? high carb foods? fat people? skinny people who eat like shit yet stay skinny because of genetics?
