I want to start this revolution. Somebody needs to take charge. and if there is someone in charge, then who is it? And who is going to pay for what we need? I have no clue what to do exept speak how i feel about things. This is so interesting to me. But what are we protesting or going against? The government? about what? Why are we starting this revolution? what is the meaning? I am just curious. I am supportive to whatever it is as long as i believe in it!
While Gumbygurl has proposed the idea, and she is willing to take charge, I still think that there should be a core group of 5 or 6 individuals who are all proactive. I've already contacted her and am in the front lines, as I'm sure others have done. This isn't really about being "against" anything, it's about showing what we want, how things could be. It's about showing that people can interact peacefully, and can barter just as easily as a a corporate nobody can lay down $100, etc. Names I officially propose are: Peace-In 2005(6) or just simply, Peacenik.
In the end who care what its called.....i wanna help but im in the UK so i dont think there is much i can do from here accept maby give ideas, but if this does go ahead which i belive it will with enough determination then i will come to the Us and visit..........
It does matter what it's called. It can have a tentative name, but it still needs a name. You can't just contact people and say, "Hey, I'm having this thing at this place and it's about freedom, do you want to come?" If a website is going to be made, it needs a name. It's almost a bother and it seems useless, but it needs to be done.
well the english one is mikefest and always will be... it's already been started. i think i'll stay out of the american one as it's too hard for me to help with and also i wouldnt get to go and see the fruits of our labour ..... good luck with it though, how many are you looking at getting to go?
Im not sure and i think Mikefest will always be here no matter what....Yay mikefest.......and with the whole thing in america i wanna help but again im not sure if i could get over there.....and also i think you should be looking for as many people as possible, maby somthing in the 100 or 200s that would do for a rocking festival..........
That sounds good. I will definitly try to go. and in my school, if we do start this, a lot of people would be going, my school is full of hippies. i love it. but it should be called something to deal with peace and unity between people. I cant come up with anything yet. we need more than 200 people though i would think to really get attention to us in order for this to do something. We will all spread the word when we know more
actually lets give it the name Michafest as a twist to mikefest. its catchy and will get people to think "whats that" instead of seeing the worf "peace" and judging hippies. plus i like the idea of being able to go to a fest and was part of naming it. "anyone up for an inside joke?'......michafest?
I'm not a fan of the name Michafest (no offense), it just doesn't convey a messege. And to me, the most important thing in having a gathering like this is to attract people. It is worth having a more "cliche" name to get a better turn out. It doesn't have to have the word "peace" in it, but people really aren't going to have a clue what Michafest is, and let's face it, people are too lazy to find out. This isn't intended to be a hipforum gathering (as far as I've talked things through with gumbygurl). It's an open invite to everyone, so the name needs to have a universal meaning. Really what should be done is have a separate thread opened for name suggestions. Then narrow it down, and down, and down. ...and back to the planning.
damn i wish i could go but to do that id have to pursue like as a hitchhiker and runaway as i don't have a car and my damn parents would'nt support the idea of me travelling accross north america to go to a gathering. on another note though hope it happens it would be good to get more people into the peace and understanding of others. also peacenik sounds good and would suit the purpose for i peace gathering. later
