TAMPA, Fla. -- A Tampa Police investigation is underway Friday after an entire family, including a pregnant woman and two young children, were hospitalized as a result of eating LSD-laced meat

    here,s the story---> http://www.cbsnews.com/news/tampa-family-sickened-by-lsd-tainted-beef/

    whats your thoughts everyone?....

could LSD still be active after cooking?
could be the fam.put it in the meat, trying to sue for money?(long shot, considering she was preg.)
or could it be ergot posioning?

I gotta wonder why they would have tested the meat for lsd, of all things.

Really. This is a very strange story.

I feel bad for the woman. She gave birth while tripping, maybe.

Yeah the story really borders on the unbelievable.

As far as i know LSD crosses the blood/brain barrier so if this is true the baby was probably tripping too.

Maybe they all seemed like they were tripping in the hospital and people noticed that.

    Yea, I mean... I don't know....

Maybe the women who was in labor was screaming that there were aliens in the hallway waiting to take her baby. I have no clue, man.

Strange story. Esp if lsd doesn't effect you when cooked... maybe they all eat raw meat?

Really though, it wouldn't take much to suspect kids are tripping... a kids walking around a hospital hallway staring at lights and someone looks at their pupils? Shrugs.

Of all the drugs and things out there that could cause someone to look 'spaced out' and have hallucinations, LSD would seem a farfetched guess, to me anyway.
Pupils are not always a give away, I've looked cops right in the eye while being interrogated tripping balls and they had no idea. In full light your eyes look pretty normal while tripping.

lds dont exist in the quantity it would take to be active in such an item. like tripping from the water fountain. impossible. tripping from teh open coffee at gas stations impossible...

tripping from the Slurpee fountain plausible.. ;)

this is a very interesting story, i,ll post more news if it comes up.

    i mean really LSD?
(this is a comment from the CBS site below) but what do ya think of it?

Might it be possible that the beef is contaminated with ergot. Ergot poisoning has been killing cows from Canada to the Midwest, all summer. There was recently a huge recall because beef was being used from dead and dying cows. Ergot survives cooking and is much more likely to a cause miscarriage than LSD. Studies show ergot alkaloids can be found in meat of cows that feed on contaminated forage.

Why the hell you talking miscarriage?

" Roasado, who was nine-months pregnant, was rushed to St. Joseph's Women's Hospital, where they safely delivered her baby"

Not a miscarriage by a long shot, that trippin' kid just wanted out! lol

well, he said ergot was "more likely to cause miscarriage", not that ergot always causes miscarriage, or that he knows it was ergot rather than lsd

I don't know much about ergot, but yeah, that's makes a lot more sense than the LSD scenario.

Do they know for a fact it was lsd, like did they run tests, or are they just assuming based on their symptoms?

Doesn't really make a lot of sense to me .
