This is a bad habit of mine. Sometimes when I get home from work, put some music on and have dinner I think I'll just lie down on the sofa for a bit, then wake up on it in the middle of the night. Then I'll slope off to bed for the remaining few hours before work the next day. Maybe it's an age thing. Do you ever nod off on the sofa?

don't have a sofa. don't have room for one. my too big bed is my sofa.
but i do catch myself nodding off in front of the computer.
my slide show screen saver are pictures that ease my mind.
but my chair, i'm always afraid if i let myself go to sleep in it, if i fall out of it and hit the floor i might hurt something.
so i walk the three steps to my bed when i do.

i don't think i'd have a sofa if i did have room for it. i'd use the space for more train world or work bench or something like that.
when my wife was alive we did have one though. if i lived with someone who wanted one and had room for it they'd be welcome to.
that would be up to them, and if they wanted me to cuddle up next to them, that would probably be more then ok too.

but right now in my life, for there to be anyone is not the most important thing.
i'd welcome them and hug them, but it hasn't been the most important thing for several decades.

I quite often nod off on the sofa. In terms of insomniacs, I've read before they end up nodding off on the sofa as their brains aren't focused on sleep and therefore they end up relaxing more and sleeping. Once they go to bed, that's 'the' place for sleep and their brain focuses on it and they can't get back to sleep.

I may take a nap during the day on the couch but my wife is the one that falls asleep on it in the evening.

Haven't used my new sofa yet.....I still have the factory plastic on it since June of this year.

Before that I've taken some naps on the old sofa

Otherwise there is no better comfort than my lion king bed

I have a friend that cannot sleep on her bed because she has so much stuff piled on it.

She chooses to sleep on her moms sofa every night for over the past year.

She also wants to date me..... I see red flags with that idea......

I sleep better on the sofa than I do in bed. So I nap in the afternoon on it and go to the bed at night and toss and turn.

I used to do until I started doing a workout when I come home and take a vitamin supplement. I found that I had more energy levels by losing weight and changing my diet.

Not really. When I was in grad school I would often fall asleep at my computer, but otherwise I usually make it to bed

if your sofa is more comfortable to sleep on the your bed, and there's noting wrong with that if it is, why not get rid of the bed its more comfortable then, and use the space its wasting for something else? unless there's someone else already sleeping on it of course.

sharing a bed is fine for sex of course, but i've never found it worth a dam for sleeping.

    You just made me laugh.

Coming from an old damp house in Ireland with no central heating, When we first got married, Jane's idea of changing to go to bed, was a few pairs of leggings, wool pajamas, a couple of cardigans and sometimes even an overcoat, not to mention a few pairs of wellington socks.

How traditional Irish families ended up with 15 children still baffles me.
