What happened in Haight-Ashbury from 1965-1967 was an accomplishment of the human race on a scale that had never been done before or after. Facing the fact that marijuana and LSD was needed as much as it was really bothers. Particularly since I have only smoked it once in my lifetime. This history gives us proof, that the masses can only be benevolent, non-materialistic and tully care for one another by using drugs:(.
If it could have done without them it most definitely would have. Currently, even though I don't use drugs, I honestly believe we would have better world if more people would use them. I am of course not talking about injecting anything. Smoking also isn't too good, because the drug gets absorbed far too quickly. I don't think they knew how to maintain therapeutic levels of marijuana back then. From what have been see so far from history, too much marijuana can make us less intelligent then the establishment, which isn't a good thing.

well, two things spring to mind here. First of all... taking marijuana is like appreciating a part of nature, right?

    Isn't that kind of beautiful?

Secondly, I can prove that you don't need to take drugs to be a hippy or to feel like a hippy.

I became a hippy so to speak at 21. I had smoked marijuana but very rarely, and not during the transition or really much around that time at all.

My sister is also very hippyish, peace flags and coloured clothing and all that. I don't believe she's ever taken anything other than alcohol.

Both of us even used all the psychedelic artwork and patterns without - I don't think - either of us fully understanding that it was LSD and other psychedelics that was the reason why they even originally existed and looked like that.

Goodness, benevolence, love, philanthropism and so on... these things do not require drugs.

    So, I wouldn't worry about that ^_^
