Breaking Point: How Mark Zuckerberg and Tim Cook Became Foes This is quite an interesting article about how Mark Zuckerberg and Tim Cook have progressively fallen out over the future of the Internet. Apple has recently (on Monday) released a feature which gives users the choice of disabling cross-tracking of data between smartphone apps, saying it will give users more privacy. Zuckerberg doesn't seem too happy about it, claiming it will harm advertising for small businesses.
Facebook are the worst liars on the planet. Among other things, they banned Donald Duck on the excuse that his actions don't support human rights. The guy is the former president of the US, and they are censoring him on the excuse that he's too political. They are merely drawing lines in the sand, attempting to defend their own turf, while a recent study indicated that corporations like Facebook are severely limiting free speech online. A quarter of Americans still insist the sun revolves around the earth, and well over half have no clue the dictionary merely contains popular definitions. The assholes are fighting among themselves over who gets to censor the web, while Google, Intel, and Microsoft are preparing AI that can do the job. The US government is so dysfunctional the private corporations are fighting among themselves over who gets to censor the US government. How do you define a democracy that demands a dictatorship? A "dictator-ocracy"?
