MB - if they come up with new, improved, infallible ways of detecting who was the perpetrator of a crime, going after them, catching them, and prosecuting them for the crime they have committed - that's fine by me. If they come up with ever more reliable ways of ensuring that people that have the means & motive to commit a crime are never presented with the opportunity to do so, then that is also fine by me. But the moment they step over the line between detecting and punishing the ACTUAL committing of crime into "detecting" (and presumably thereafter seeking to punish) the mere potential or possibility to commit crime, that is NOT alright with me. There are many people out there who wish they could have more money and would be willing to steal to get it if they thought they could get away with it. Such people have committed no crime and are entitled to walk free ... until they actually do commit a crime, that is. Likewise, there are people (I do not know how many) who wish to [insert your own particular most hated crime here] and who would, perhaps, do so if they thought they could get away with it. But as long as they commit no crime then they too are entitled to walk free. This, to me, looks like it may be the crossing of a very dangerous line which threatens the liberty of us all. Especially when we are talking of people - possibly innocent people - being accused of crimes for which the opporbrium of public opinion may be a FAR worse punishment than that which the law prescribes and the courts dish out; and when that public opprobrium attaches to you the moment you are accused, and persists even after you have been pronounced innocent by the courts.
It is. It is meant as that, and it is taken as that. Exactly. Yep. It is meant as a personal attack, and you describe it well. Ah yes. Sheeple. A mix of humans and sheep that need a leader or “shepherd”. And being called that is a problem I deal with regularly. “Right-ringer”? Oh please. Even though I come here and I feel I am on a close to if not the same wave length as the general populace here, I am still a registered Republican. Right-ringer? Yeah, I suppose that’s me. And that’s fine. I think to keep the world going around and around we need both sides- right-wingers and left-wingers alike. Funny thing is, my friends have told me I’m more like a democrat with my views. I don’t know about that, really as I have taken a few political tests and I almost always end up more as a centrist than anything. With that aside, I have dealt with people from mostly the Tea Party or similar groups and that is exactly what they call me. They support the confiscation of property from and execution of people they think don’t have the same rights as they because of mere disagreements over political issues. No not all Tea Party members are like that, but there are always the few that are. And I’ve met a few. I recall one tried instigating a fist fight with me because I refused to tell him IF I voted for Obama or not. AFAIC it’s no one’s business. But that’s another topic for another time. What the political groups do not understand is when they label someone as a “sheeple” if anything it pushes the majority of potential members & adhearants away. Such as it did with me. And the only people that are willing to “take it” and join, are (if anything)....sheeple. Pot....kettle....you get the idea. I think it’s stupid. All of it. Insulting people over political views. Maybe we wouldn’t have as many wars if people learned to respect others people’s opinions better. Agree to disagree and learn to co-exist. Yep. The best kept secret is a secret not shared.
I don't know how I feel about this. Well, wait, yes I do. You have got to watch these corporations. They make this social networking genre look all warm, fuzzy, and friendly and they are just data mining. Yes, when you know HOW to use these networks they can be a boon, but when has there ever been a time in history where the majority of people knew how to protect themselves from the big guys? You have to be aware of and stay on top of all these privacy settings FROM EVERY SOCIAL NETWORK. And let me add, I don't discuss anything on facebook, on my wall or on my chat, that would have the police or any other government official to knock on my door...and I'm still not safe. Marinate on that......
My thoughts eggzackery...............bunch of overage fucking school children telling each other how the last crap was composed and when they last fucked their sister!:biker:
