If you have no sense of humour, like things to be kept neatly in their place at all times or enjoy being a pretentious hippy it's the perfect place!

Let's see... I have this forum. My own forum. Facebook. Twitter. And about 3 dozen other forums, and a few yahoo groups.

There is room for everyone. But Facebook is the one place I can connect with my family, old classmates and new friends. Not all of them are of the hippie mindset.

It's exactly this kind of attitude that is driving people away from niche groups like this. While I understand everyone has the right to their opinion, this one is so judgmental. If you don't want to use social networks, fine. But don't criticize those who do.

I don't see this place as a Niche group.

I have facebook; I'm think about deleting all my highschool friends off it, nobody really uses it. I keep it for family.

I have myspace; Can't view the pics of people who have the books set to private without logging into the site.

I dont have twiter; I use forums for that.

I'm still here. Only really check in now and again.
I think I've been on these forums for about eight years*. And, believe it or not  , many topics and opinions are repeated. I repeated myself a few times when identical threads (maybe years apart) appear again.
After a while you tend to sit back more and just watch. I think it happens in generations (of join up date) and this can be responsible for the quiet periods when a 'strata' of hipforumers have got a lot out of their system and are now content to watch.

(*through two 'reboots' of the forum software - hence last re-join date)

I like it when you repeat yourself, because you have the best life stories. I still remember the one about you being hungover and accidentally wandering into a Freemason meeting. :D

Pfft, there you go excluding people from the niche group again. Why do you hate freedom?:p

The only social networking site I use is Facebook. I like the groups, and the way they arrange the PM system make it easier to organise things with friends. I have FriendsReunited, Myspace and Tagged, but hardly ever use 'em.

no way man! this is actually the first time I've said i've repeated myself.
wait.. was that just me repeating myself in the above sentence?
    arg! I hate repeating myself.

Although; 'hippy strata' 'hippy strata' 'hippy strata'. I'll repeat that 'cos I like the sound of it.
    :)

Meh, I shouldn't imagine he or anyone else even looks at this place any more. I completely forget Ukip even exists for long periods of time and I'm sure they're the same. Weird there isn't more crossover that I'm aware of, it seems to be one or the other, Poo_13 being the only exception:tongue: Even the late poo_indigo left us before she died. I just find that place incredibly boring and humourless no matter how busy it is. I think it's probably a personality thing...

I left here cos I had a lot of personal rubbish going on and this place added to it. I'm now back but find little to post on any more! I feel massively guilty as I was part of a 'clique' that I believe put people off posting in here, but forums are always cliquey, heck I'm even in a clique on my new forum (we aren't exactly the coolest one...). But yeah, I hope more people join and ignore all the right-libertarian crap lower down the forums, the UK forums seem much more left wing!

I think that's exactly what it is:eek: Why I never see eye to eye with anyone in any of the other forums. American "hip" folk are usually right wing libertarians (as if there's any other kind)...

That's the reason I've largely stopped posting in the political forums elsewhere on this site. After being here eight years, I've said everything that needs saying to the right-wing American hillbillies who call themselves hippies. But there'll always be a corner of this foreign forum that is forever England....

I guess I don't post as much anymore as I got tired of hearing my own voice... blah blah blah... protest.... blah blah blah... vegan stuff.... blah blah blah... self righteous indignation etc etc.

I prefer to grow veggies and paint these days ;)

What a difference 7 years makes... 61320 little hours
