    ...

    Hello HIP friends
For a few years now I ditched Facebook because of privacy concerns.
Well justified by the looks of it!

Facebook data breach: 533m records leaked for free
Data from over 500 million Facebook accounts stolen in 2019 now shared for free

Names, phone numbers, birth dates and email addresses of 533-million Facebook users appeared on a hacking forum over the weekend, available for anyone who wanted it. For free.

The data was scraped back in 2019 when the information became vulnerable and was later fixed by Facebook.
While this data is two years old, it is still valuable to cybercriminals.

The leak first came to light in January this year, when the phone number data was offered for sale through a Telegram bot.
Now, however, the full database has been made available for free, increasing the chances of it getting in the wrong hands.

Facebook currently has over 2.8 billion users (roughly 2.4 billion back in 2019), so the chance of any Facebook user’s data being included is roughly one in five.
However, it also seems that some countries’ users were affected more than others, with the highest concentration being from countries in the Middle East and Asia.

That said, the numbers are still significant from the US and Europe.
According to a breakdown of the numbers, 26% of UK users and 13% of US users are affected. According to Troy Hunt, creator of haveibeenpwned the data contains a relatively small number of email addresses, but a significant number of phone numbers, which are still valuable in the wrong hands.

The Pentagon is poised to use AI to censor the web, in part, to replace the idiots running it. The EU is working on public quantum encryption, so the idiots know its their own damned fault. Its a marriage made in hell, with everyone rushing to establish websites like Facebook, which encourage the idiots to argue over the definition of stupid, and who is socially unacceptable.

Facebook should be renamed Fakebook. And honestly. I truly hope Fakebook crashes for good some day.

My work includes teaching Facebook how to automate their own bullshit, and how to automate the most popular bullshit, and make a fortune by giving people all the bullshit they demand, as their population implodes.

I believe it. I left Fakebook over a month ago. Never looked back and my stress level went down a lot and I am much happier.

Facebook, Fox News, Google, and all the rest are merely working for the international conglomerates, who would sell their own mothers down the river for higher profits. The conglomerates destroyed American politics, ensuring that international politics all shoot for the lowest common denominator. Its akin to busting down the fucking front door, so they can corrupt anyone's political system, merely by flooding it with money and encouraging the idiots to argue over the definition of stupid. England looks to be next on the menu, and they have my sympathy.

LOL, everyone believes they can fight the conglomerates, until they stomp them into the dirt, then pave paradise and put up a parking lot. Its money, not people, just the sheer amount of money involved and the fact the US has all the standards of a crack whore means the more your economy is tied to ours, the more corrupt it will inevitably become. For example, the only reason marijuana is illegal in the free world, is because it is illegal in the US, and we insist it be illegal even in Jamaica. The question is not whether your politics are corrupt, but how fast can they become more corrupt.

How about making a fake FB profile with disinformation just to confuse their algorithms? FB is a far better designed website than Myspace that would have to be one of the worst designed websites.
Market researchers study message boards including this one. Maybe that is why there are profiles that have never posted anything.

I had 2 profiles going. Both had different stuff on them. I had a MySpace and I still have an active account on there. Although I very ever so rarely go on it. I do agree that Facebook's design is far better. I also have no plans to go back on it at this time.

You can advertise any number of ways, but Facebook is all conservative mainstream culture.

Facebook's design merely reflects the limits of the technology, while everyone including Facebook is developing AI. Sadly, the truth is, most people are boring as hell, and modern science is making progress in making bots much more friendly than people. What we need are more bots, and fewer websites. My own research shows most websites organize like playground lynch mobs, which makes them incredibly predictable, for the best advertising bang for your buck.

I'm not a very active Facebook user either, but I like its design.
