I always use 100% cotton. But I recently wanted to try and tie dye overalls the best I could find for white denim overalls were 71% Cotton, 27% Polyester, 2% Spandex. Will this end up being vibrant or faded colors?

Hmm. Don't know. But I always wear stuff with polyester and spandex myself. It's better for your ironing board...

It will be fine and quite vibrant if you know what you were doing to begin with :) post a picture when you're done ...

  4. How cool.

Seriously one of my friends who does this here in Australia knows a lot about it.

If you have instagram, i strongly suggest you search for itsafad on there.

Thank you and will do! I just was skeptical since it wasn’t 90% or higher on cotton. I definitely appreciate the responses ❤️❤️

It depends on how the fabric is woven.
What you listed is a similar composition to socks, and if the nylon and elastic or spandex is inside, the outside will dye fairly nicely. If it’s on the outside, you’ll see a sheen of undyed threads.
I’ve had...reasonable...results by simply mixing my dyes heavy on blended fabrics, and expecting a “vintage” tone.

Make sure you wash them one or two times before trying to dying them. The fabric tends to have chemicals on them to keep them looking clean in the store. You need to get that off for the best results. I learned that the hard way.

Not bad, given the poly percentage. Do you see a “moving” sheen?

Hmm ... sounds interesting, I've always enjoyed experimenting with different colors. I believe that colors create a mood and complement a person. Each color in the house creates a special atmosphere. Quite recently I built a house for myself and for a long time could not decide what color to choose for interior decoration. A friend of mine advised me to seek help from Wilkens Teamwork GmbH, which will advise on interior design as well as design and renovation. I managed to convince myself that bright colors do not suit my brown floor and it is better to choose something less light. I look forward to it being over soon and I will show you my house!
