Much of the rest of the world is grounding this plane. It turns out, it's in need of a software update to resolve an issue where the Maneuvering Characteristics Augmentation System likely engages erroneously, pushing the nose down. Boeing is pushing this software update after two planes have gone down in 6 months, but insists the plane which has been flying since the year 2017 is safe.
