If it works in Russia, it should work in Croatia I think. Perhaps you downloaded a messed up version or something.
My sister wasn't able to downoad it on her Samsung Galaxy, and she is in Switzerland. Weird. Viber works perfectly though, so....at least something.
Anyway, its not the tablet or even the OS if you dont have the apps that handle certain formats. Anyhoo, I got over my tablet, a phone with about a 4 1/2 inch screen is just about right. I use that most of the time now, even at home when my laptops sitting right there, prefer the phone, and yes it is android, but will switch to ubuntu once their mobile version goes thru a few re-tweeks. Apple products are the tool of Satan
I'm having an issue with the BBC iplayer, ITVplayer and 4OD...(I'm not having any issues with Youtube) ...so which 'apps' do I need (other than the ones such as the BBC iplayer and media player)?
Iplayer? Never tried it, sound like an apple app! You can't compare ipad and android tablet. Android is not a hardware company, nor is it even an app sales company, it's not one company at all. Apple ios is good at doing exactly what apple wants their os to do, because apple alone is in total control of the hardware, the os, and the app store. Android is nothing like that. Hardware and software freedom comes at a price, countless hardware configs, resolutions, chipsets, apps, os revisions, countless developers working under very little restrictions... bugs and compatibility issues are the price you pay for technological freedom. I watch most tv on TV Portal, it's great but doesn't always work. I don,t give up on it because it has bugs, it's not a corporation, it's a collaborative peer to peer operation. Android is a collaboration, the more people who use and support and develope for it, the better it gets. - typed on my $50 android tablet.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/ Same issues with https://www.itv.com/itvplayer/ sound / no picture The radio is fine... http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BBC_iPlayer http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ITV_Player http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4OD I'm not comparing... I agree: Hardware and software freedom comes at a price, countless hardware configs, resolutions, chipsets, apps, os revisions, countless developers working under very little restrictions... bugs and compatibility issues are the price you pay for technological freedom. It's just annoying...
Check the os version ics 4.0 or jb 4.1 have better compatibly than 4.2. Check with sites like freaktab for custom roms for your devices. All my droids run custom rooted roms.
My older Tablet is 4.0 my newer tablet is 4.2. I think you are right. It explains why my older tablet has no issues with iplayer, and my new one does. http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/showpost.php?p=7835395&postcount=6 I did look into 'custom rooted roms'. I downloaded an app to alter - but have no idea about them, really. I'd like it to work afterwards! I've emailed the maker who said email the seller. So I emailed the seller. Apparently, there is a fix...somewhere.
Odon do you have Pandora in England? I'm starting to like this little thing. I'm sitting here on my laptop, texting on my iphone, streaming pandora via bluetooth to my stereo from the tablet, and watching monday night football with no sound. Holy hell, I've become a technology whore.
Yes. It is here! I have just looked it up. I had not heard of it before. Me too. I'm typing on my laptop. Looking up Pandora on my phone. And wishing I remembered to bring my tablet to work today.
I think what deviate suggested is the way to go, Pandora and things like it. You wont get all formats and codecs working on all OS's nowadays, and a lot of stuffin around. Plus with things like Pandora they suggest new music to listen to you may never heard of, not just by labels, but whats actually in the files you listen to
PandoraTV? All I can find is clips on that. If there is a show I can't find a stream for, there's always piratebay and Utorrent app. Half hour show usually only takes 4-5 minutes to download. XBMC also has a lot of TV plugins.
Well, I've been sent a SD card with some software updates for my tablet. I should get that in the next few days. It should fix the issue. e.g : Support Tablet Optimisation http://www.forbes.com/sites/amitcho...s-android-app-to-support-tablet-optimization/ I have not really got into Pandora yet. I'm not fussed about 'discovering' new music, though. I want to watch BBC and ITV (etc) programmes I've missed, and I don't think Pandora is going to let me do that.
