I have a Tablet thats about 6 months old. It's ok, but a bit slow. So, I bought another one. It's much quicker (quad core). Lovely machine, really. Tonight, for the first time, I go to watch something on the BBC Iplayer - it aint working Yet, on my older and slower tablet it works like a dream. F**king B**t*rd Android Tablets That's all...
I just bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 because I thought it could do something I needed for work. Turns out it can't. It's really cool little device but after having Apple products, Android is just inferior. I like how it's more open source though. But anyway I'm torn between keeping it just because it's cool, taking it back or giving it to my nephew.
My mom has had to send her Android tablet (dunno what it is exactly, some cheap piece of crap my brother and dad bought for her) in for repairs like 4 times since she got it in like February. But other than the first one that overheated, the other times have just been because she's careless and has destroyed the place where you plug in the wall adapter multiple times.
£60-65 http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00EKJEB02/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1"]PROMOTIONAL PRICE!! 7" RAPID5 ECO TABLET PC - DUAL-CORE CPU - ANDROID 4.2 JELLY BEAN - DUAL CAMERAS - QUAD CORE GPU - HDMI - USB (RED): Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories Not that much. The older one was about the same price. The other could do what I wanted (like I say) - this one? Not without a firmware update (or perhaps a OS downgrade - strangely enough)... I do wish I had spent a little bit more - but the new one has all the ports I wanted (as not to have multiple wires etc all over the place) ... and most of the tablets under £100 have the same processors (Allwinner) and general architecture. If you are spending £119 on a kindle, how much of that is because it's called 'Kindle'. I guess you do buy reliability and a little functionality, too. Kinky Ramona I'm likely to cause this tablet more harm that it is to itself deviate I will swap I love Samsung. Never had a problem with them. If I can watch iplayer, and it does NOT have 'angry birds' (winding me up at the moment) - that would be great. Seriously, keep it! AquaLight I don't know that much about Android - else, I would have this sorted by now :/
I have a Samsung Galaxy too, and I love it. However, WhatsApp doesn't seem to work here :-/ Oh first world problems.
I prefer my laptop. But It's just a real chore to lug it around (to and from work) - it's not good on the 'ol back etc. Plus, sometimes, it takes an hour to get to work (maybe an hour,) and it's easier to have something approx' 7 inches in your hand, rather than something much bigger... I wanted to cut down on what I'm carrying around with me... At the moment, though, I have my laptop, two tablets and my phone at hand Reading around, a little, it seems my tablet will play iplayer through 'Opera' - albeit a little patchy. And through 'Chrome' it will play, but not in full screen. Anybody want to swap two generic tablets for a Samsung Galaxy?
sounds like user error to me lol Android is great; its based on linux and linux is still evolving. just wait till they work out all the kinks...
It's my fault, but linux is evolving - so I should wait till they work out all the kinks? Yeah, that makes sense. Who would they be? Wouldn't most things be ok if you wait a while? At this moment in time I wouldn't say 'Android' is so great... On 26 September 2013, BBC iPlayer Desktop was replaced by BBC iPlayer Downloads, the new application was no longer based on Adobe AIR and on the same date the BBC stopped making programmes available to download in WMV format
I work throughout Leicestershire. It could be 15 minutes away. It could be upto an hour. I could live in a camper van/mobile home/in a ditch somewhere, I guess...
ah, that makes sense then. that would actually be nice, having some variation in the daily scenery and all.
The thing is Odon, I don't need it. I have an iphone and a laptop. I bought it specifically for one purpose and jumped the gun without properly researching. I'm gonna end up giving it to someone who will appreciate it more than me. I can't even get 10 min into something on netflix without wanting to throw it against the wall because it's so annoying to hold.
Thank You https://www.usps.com/business/international-priority-airmail.htm Hoppípolla I would if I had that kinda cash spare. Although, it does only seem to be a firmware issue. Not the tablet, itself. Others have had the same issues, and had them rectified. I've sent the supplier an email. It just seems to be that the bigger brands get 'fixed' first (with developers like the BBC) and other generic brands have to orientate around that. Like I say, one tablet (of similar price): no issues (apart from the speed) This tablet: just won't play iplayer (or any player) that well. I guess I'm moaning at the haphazard nature of Android (it seems to me, anyway)...
