    I did not smoke marijuana until 1971. In 1973 I became involved with the Community for Creative Non-Violence in Washington, DC. That was a Roman Catholic commune that protested against the War in Vietnam. I would have folk masses with them on Sunday. They still exist. Now they help the homeless.

    In Washington, DC there was and is a coffee house called the Potter's House. During most of the 1970's the Potter's House would have a talk on Monday evening with a question and answer period. The talks would be recorded and broadcast on WETA. I often went, asked a question, and heard my question later on that week on the radio.

    I remember walking into the local drugstore one day, and I looked up at the newstand as I walked by, and there on the top shelf was a newspaper that said the Beatles had broke up.

    I knew it was the end of an era.
