More than $600.00 for us too. I believe the $600.00 is if you're single, the $1200.00 if you're married. We won't be spending a penny of it, at least now. It's going into our savings, just as our other income tax returns to be used for a down payment on another house.
yepper. except a little. we saved aside about a thousand dollars form dave's bonus a trip to california to see my mom, but i spent it in one afternoon on sex toys and costumes. eek. it's the first time i've spent money that dave didn't complain about it.
If the bill passes the senate.. they are saying not to expect a check until some time this summer. Have you ever heard of "robbing Peter to pay Paul?" this is the first time I've heard of robbing Peter to pay Peter. I wish the bottom would fall out of the stock market.
close but not yet but they have thousands of interns in position to start licking stamps and mountains of 600$ checks are printed for bush to sign
You tell me how giving everyone ,including the people who did not pay any taxes $600 is not Socialism. Meanwhile the producers continue to pay the bulk of the taxes. If you think this is going to help the economy you are mistaken. Printing more paper that is worth even less increases inflation and will lead to deflation. In my opinion of course.
Socialism is an all-encompassing political ideology involving a command economy. This is income redistribution. Foolsih, but not the same. Yeup. America has shitty political and economic policies with little forsight.
Wait a few years. Income redistribution is the first step. If you look at all the factors we are in all encompassing political ideology involving a command economy. But again it is just an opinion.
Sorry, I have not read all of it ,as I will not be getting a dime from it. Also I understand they are still working on it and adding things to it. I should probably research it more, but again I get the shaft so it really does not affect me.
we are all getting the shaft... to bad the american people dont have enough sense to see what a ponzi scam it actually is... id send my check back or burn it if i thought 100 million other americans would do the same,,but they wont, soooooooo,, i guess i to will keep my worthless promissory notes...
Becuase they expect people to take them checks and buy from the rich peoples stores or from places the the rich have stock in or you will buy inflated stocks from the rich and then the market will crash. No matter what the market is and I mean IS going to crash. Atleast here in the US the inflation is terrible and they goverment has masked it so most dont see it. This "print more monopoly money" repair is only adding to the fall. People have no choice but to jump back to the ground and sadly the longer we wait and the more we do stupid shit like this to try to correct it the higher the jump is going to be and the harder we are going to land when we get there but then again for now people are content becuase "Hey its not affeting us now"!
every interview or poll ive seen ,the majority of people plan to do 1 of 3 things with the money, 1. pay debt down, 2. put it in savings as they feel they will need it to fall back on soon. 3. invest it in non taxable investments. then i heard a few say stock up on food.. none of these things will affect the economy in any way...
I hear the same too around here during income tax time but I sure see them lines at Walmart being long, I sell a butt load of computers to people who only use it for video game and chat systems and our local car lots sure stock pile the wrecks with high prices to sell during these times. Seems people see a check and dont look at ways to make it work for them. I could justify a computer if your old one was junk or you wanted a newer one so you could use it for business or a means to make more money with it ect but hell if its just for games, crazy! Of coarse I sell them to to people too and that likely makes me the drug dealer so to speak so I really have no right to say anything either.
Eh. The whole idea around giving the average joe $600 (I heard $300 up here in the north) is to give the masses a cash influx to spend again. It's a way of getting people to consume, and thus jump start the economy. Basically it's a trick. Give people money and they won't be smart enough to save any of it. There's the rub. Shameful what Congress thinks of the American people. It's disgusting what the House full of Democrats passes, as if totally bulldozed over by Republican policies.
So the plan is to sell millions of 32" LCD tv's at walmart? I fail to see any benefit here, the government doesn't just "have" money to give, this is our money to begin with...
